Re: the preview of next week’s downton.—It does not matter if Matthew cannot have children. If he remains the closest male relative to Lord Grantham, he will still inherit Downton Abbey. It was not possible to break an entail based on life interest. If he does not have any children, the title will become extinct and the estate revert back to the Crown (a legal process called escheat) after his death. :( Thank god, fee entails have been abolished!
