I like how I set out to write an isafrin fic post-loops but I got so invested in Siffrin’s ✨trauma✨ that there’s been basically no romance.
The even funnier part, imo, is that I fully *planned* there to be smut but yeah no that’s not gonna happen for years at this point.
And if I actually Do get to the ‘Sif’s decision’ part, I plan for it to mirror my own partnered relationship. That is, it’s queer platonic for Sif. Sif is aro/ace. But it’s romantic for Isa. They’re both aware of this distinction and comfortable with it.
Sif is fine with doing romantic stuff. Sometimes even physical stuff. But it doesn’t mean the same for him as it does for Isa. Sif could go without kissing and wouldn’t blink an eye. But he likes that Isabeau likes kisses. And Isabeau feels loved when he gets kisses. So Sif likes showing Isa that love sometimes.
Moments of physical intimacy (including kissing/ cuddling /even holding hands) are sometimes rare. Theyre never required. Never expected. But when they do happen, it’s sweet and loving and exploratory.
It’s feeling safe with your partner who you love as a best friend.
I don’t think Sif would ever love Isa more than they love anyone else in the party. But he wouldn’t mind kissing Isabeau even when he’d never do that to other party members.
