An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
The awkward atmosphere doesn’t last. Not because any of the people present suddenly unlock some kind of social skill (or because Queen Jopis deigns to use hers) but because a mighty and great six-year-old Dragon breaks the door in. Quite literally. At the moment, Duke Fredo’s hand is still in Cale’s hair — it’s actually strangely comfortable, not that he’ll admit it — and Queen Jopis is handing one of the pastries served to her to her canine friend, saying something about needing it to grow up well to help her. She does not specify what exactly she’ll be needing help with. Cale’s just going to go ahead and assume she means world domination and cheer her on from the sides. Bud has yet to really snap out of the shock of suddenly getting attacked by his bed-stricken (due to a serious disease called chronic laziness) friend.
In which Cale accidentally consumes a love potion and is stuck with a few (okay, quite some) concerned allies.
