tv shows (in particular sitcoms. i'm thinking about sitcoms) are really missing out on the comedic potential of an aroallo character in a sitcom. everyone's thinking about the comedic potential of awkward romance, but i'm thinking about the comedic potential of desperately trying to avoid romance. climbing out of windows to avoid family asking about a romantic partner. mission impossible-style escape following a one-night stand. spraying people with water from a spray bottle if they engage in pda. holding an anti-valentines day. hiding in impossible places to avoid someone who has expressed romantic feelings for them. two aroallos in a fwb relationship making exaggerated looks of disgust when someone implies they're dating. marriage for tax benefits. sitcoms are really limiting their true comedic potential by not including aroallo characters

so the latest update to the sims 4 added sexuality customization. i was like “oh cool we can probably, like, make gay sims now instead of having everyone be bi. cool. good for the gays.”

I dared not HOPE that they would even think about aros but DUDE. THEY ADDED THE SPLIT ATTRACTION MODEL

YOU CAN NOW MAKE SIMS THAT ARE ARO, ACE, OR OTHERWISE HAVE SPLIT ATTRACTIONS VIA THE NEW SEXUALITY TAB IN THE CREATE A SIM (its under the same tab as the custom gender options)

NO MORE DO WE HAVE TO SUFFER WITH THE (modded in from sims 3) UNFLIRTY TRAIT. THIS IS SO MUCH BETTER. IT STRAIGHT UP DELETES THE OPTION FOR ROMANTIC INTERACTIONS, BOTH PLAYER MADE AND AUTONOMOUS, FOR THE SIM AND FOR ANY SIMS INTERACTING WITH THEM WHO KNOW THEIR ROMANTIC ORIENTATION.

and!!!!!! then I thought!!!! no! it couldn’t possibly be! this is wonderful but they couldn’t possibly have moved the sexual interactions out of the romance tab, where they’ve always been in every sims game! if you only check the sexual attractions and leave romantic attractions unchecked it probably just like, doesn’t let you do them! they couldn’t possibly!

WOOHOO PARTNERS. FWB. A COMPLETELY NEW RELATIONSHIP TYPE THAT UNLOCKS WOOHOO INTERACTIONS WITHOUT REQUIRING A ROMANTIC RAPPORT LIKE YOU’VE ALWAYS NEEDED IN THE SIMS.

LOOK AT IT. IT PUTS THE WOOHOO OPTIONS UNDER THE FRIENDLY TAB.

fuck EA and the Sims for their cashgrabbing DLC nonsense and etc but whichever individuals on the dev team are responsible for these features, you have my respect

Aroallo reading, Tumblr sexphobia.

Just because I want to read erotica without romance does not mean that I want BDSM or Omegaverse.  Or anything where the man is the employer, stepdad, Daddy’s boss, her first time, or something like that.  If you type “erotica kindle” into the Amazon search engine that’s what you get.    

I don’t like how the words “taboo” and “dirty” comes up very often.  Why should sex outside of the romance genre be called that?   

Yes, I am aware that it would be worse if I was homosexual.  I only saw one lesbian book and one gay book.     

And unfortunately in the visual media there is the cis male gaze. 

I originally had “Erotica” and “Sex” in the tags, but by doing so Tumblr removed this post from the search engine for all the other tags, so I had to remove them.
