i'm honestly really surprised that Rise Leo being aro and gay (particularly aroallo but even aroacespec) isn't more common as a specified headcanon, if only in a "have your cake and eat it too" kinda way

Then again, given how misunderstood aromanticism often is, maybe that's for the best rn lol

my thoughts on caleo even though no one asked for them!!!

Personally, I don't like caleo, it felt forced, as if Leo was the only single one so Rick just paired him off with this immortal titaness so he wouldn't be alone. Honestly, Calypso's kinda a jerk, and Leo is too good for her. Nemesis told him that he'd always be the 7th wheel, so I like the headcannon that Leo's aromantic (idk the correct terms for everything, but I think that's correct), and he's the 7th wheel not because he's "unlovable" (all his friends love him) but because he simply does not want to date! And maybe he thinks he does want to date for a bit, but eventually he realises he's perfectly content with just his friends.

Also, it would have been wayyy more impactful if Leo had helped Calypso get away for Ogygia simply out of the kindness of his heart, and to hold the gods accountable for not following through on their promise to Percy. Maybe at first he thought he liked her, just to continue on Leo's whole "falling in love with unobtainable people" thing, but i dont think Calypso would ever return this crush, and Leo would just get over it. When Leo first arrived, Calypso took one look at him and was lowkey disgusted, like here was this scrawny guy washed up on here island, when before she's had strong, very heroic types such as oddyeseus, so I don't think she'd like Leo because he's simply not her type.

However I do like the idea of Calypso getting a soft spot for Leo, and them developing a sort of sibling-like relationship, or a friendship similar to early Percabeth - but with less of an undertone of romance and tragedy.

Also, if we're not going with the aro Leo hc, I way prefer valgrace or valzhang (they have so much more chemistry and backstory let's be real they're both sm better)
