Scarita - Belioara Nature Reserve

Not very far from Cluj-Napoca, you can have a hiking trip to Scăriţa – Belioara Nature Reserve.
It is a geo-botanical reserve in the Muntele Mare Mountain Ridge. With high, towering peaks and a large number of cave systems, the reserve contains the limestone plateau called “Şesul Craiului”, located at an altitude of over 1,350 meters.
Here, you canfind the forest of the Scăriţa Mountain, as well as the spectacular cliffs standing as guardians over the roofs of Belioara Valley. It covers a surface of 47.7 hectares and houses numerous species of rare plants, of which the most famous is “Floarea-de-colţ” (Leontopodium alpinum).
