Remember That Night in Montana (Glacier National Park) by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: While enjoying a sunset view on a balcony overlook at the Many Glacier Hotel. The view is looking to the west across the waters of Swiftcurrent Lake with a mountain backdrop of Mount Wilbur and other peaks and ridges of the Northern Lewis Range. This location is in Glacier National Park. My thought on composing this image was to align Mount Wilbur more or less centered in the image with a leveled-on view with the horizon. I decided to include some foreground interest with the nearby boat dock. The rest was metering the exposure to not blow any highlights from portion caught in the sunset light but also being able to pull some of the more shadowed areas later on post-production. The caption for the image was in reference to a favorite Jimmy Buffett song, Come Monday. I love the lyrics when he sang about Montana, how it’s pretty up there, going hiking, and all that. With his recent death, it seemed appropriate to remember him with a night in Montana.
