Arpitan (arpitan or lengoua arpitanna), historically known as Francoprovençal and known as Romand in Switzerland, is a Romance language spoken in Arpitania: a nation in the Eastern Alps mountains (nowadays politically divided betwen Eastern France, Northwestern Italy, and Romandy in Switzerland).
