Oliver’s face doesn’t even change, there’s just a two second pause and then he changes the subject and it’s so. funny. His reaction is “point taken. Talking about the past is bad and we should never do it” and by golly does he stick to that instinct for years to come.

Arrow Rewatch 2018 3x05: The Secret Origin Of Felicity Smoak

A Felicity centric episode? With flashbacks? Yes!

- love the opening training montage and then the cut to Felicity struggling to do 5 sit ups. Hilarious.

- Ray's now showing up at her apartment unannounced.

- Donna!!!! 'To send a text you actually have to press send on the text.' lol. Felicity looks horrified the whole time.

- Felicity flashbacks. Hi Goth Felicity.

- Thea's moving into the loft and Oliver's not happy that she's using Malcolm's money.

- Then the lights go out. The city's under cyber attack.

Oliver saving that woman from being hit by the car is pretty badass. He just grabs her and throws himself onto the car.

- Brother Eye

- Oliver meets his future mother in law and looks so happy about it. 'It's great to meet you. Finally.'

- lol Donna wants to buy Felicity a fake ID. Cooper gets arrested.

- Felicity wrote the virus and I love that Oliver calms her down when she's freaking out. He knows exactly what to say. He uses his soft 'Felicity' voice.

- Felicity visiting Cooper in prison just makes me think of Olicity. Are we going to see her visiting Oliver in prison? This poor girl has had a terrible time with relationships. Cooper went to prison and then she thought he killed himself. She thought Oliver was dead. She thought Ray was dead. Billy actually did die. And now Oliver's in prison. Give the girl a break.

- Tell Quentin the truth!!!!!!!!!

- 'Family is precious, and love, in spite of everything, is what makes it precious.' Thea tells this to Oliver. He repeats it later to Felicity.

- 'I am running out of expletives!'

- first time ever that I was kind of mad at Felicity for the way she spoke to her mother. I felt bad for Donna. I have a lot of respect for single, working mothers. I was raised by one. I know Felicity is under a lot of pressure, but she was out of line. Sad for Donna that she doesn't feel she has anything in common with Felicity.

- Oliver encourages Felicity to talk to Donna. He knows her head's not in the game. He's so soft with her. He repeats Thea's line from earlier about family being precious.

- Donna got a free ticket to come to Starling. Felicity senses something fishy right away and then they are kidnapped.

- Cooper's alive.

- Oliver's worried about Felicity. She's not answering her phone. He knows her. He knows she's never far from her phone. Somethings up.

- Felicity out smarting Cooper by using Ray's smart watch to send for help...so proud.

- Donna going all mama bear on Cooper. You tell him!

- Oliver shows up. Don't mess with his girl.

- Felicity pistol whipping Cooper was everything. She saved herself in the end. My girl ain't no damsel. And Oliver knows it.

- Oliver's had some experience with coming back from the dead lol.

'Lovers, it sounds creepy no matter how you say it.' Oliver laughs.

'I want you to know that whatever experiences you had to go through, I'm glad that you did. They shaped the person you are today. And you know how I feel about her.' Awkward.

I both love and hate that line. I love that he probably didn't mean to say it. But that he needs her to know. However, I hate that he does because it's unfair to Felicity. He made the choice to let her go. He can't keep dangling the slim hope of them over her. It's a little mean. She's trying to move on.

- flashback Felicity has a whole new look. I loved how it was sort of setup as a superhero costume reveal. In a way it was. This is Felicity in her hero costume. The blonde hair and glasses are her new disguise. The walls are up.

- Oliver moving in with Thea. Queen siblings reunited. Malcolm does not look happy about it.

- love that Felicity apologised to Donna. 'I have learned that I'm a lot tougher than I thought I was. That, I got from you.' Stop making me cry. Mothers and daughters just get to me. I can relate.

- Roy's having dreams about killing Sara.

Trip Down Memory Lane #30

It’s no secret that Season 6 of Arrow is leaving me beyond miserable - but now with the showrunner change I have the tiniest bit of hope. However, I still need cheering so I’m remembering times when Arrow made me happy. There was a whole lot of happy and good before I had my heart broken.
