She was his to look after. He took responsibility for her. Yes, she was the entire League’s responsibility, but she was his “sidekick”. He regretted that she hadn’t spent more time with him the way Roy had before Bruce recruited her to the Young Justice. However, she was an incredible archer with or without him (she just needed a bit more polish). When she decided to leave the young team with Wally, he’d been accepting of her decision, happy for her even. Not everyone wanted this life. From time to time, he’d check in on her and leave her anonymous checks just to insure she and Wally were okay.

Now she wasn’t okay. Now she needed someone. Someone to support her and more than just financially. He had once said he was her uncle. Now, he had to actually act the part. Maybe even more importantly, he needed to act like a father. God knew hers wasn’t going to help her through this. But Ollie could. He may not have been as good with kids as his beloved Dinah, but he would certainly try.

He came to the front door and knocked. He was impressed by her strength to even stay in the home that they had built together so soon after his death. But Artemis had always been strong. Stronger than she realized. It was why Bruce had put her on the team. It was why she was here now instead of staying at the Young Justice base like they’d offered to her. It was why she was going to make it through this.

SO ?? that’s how he starts this sentence ?? with SO ?? he doesn’t know why he does this, could be a curse or something to make him act like this in front of artemis. she’s been his best friend, girlfriend, teammate, and well, he’s pretty sure SOULMATE for years now and he still turns into an awkward mess before asking certain things. either he was SO lucky that this girl put up with him or she knew just how much EFFECT she has on him. or BOTH. yeah, probably both. ❝ prom is soon. IF we could go to prom. mine or yours. ❞

         “ It’s been, such a long time. ”     After everything that happened, the break they all took for months, it’s been hard for everyone to come back at the Mount. Eventually, the current leader of the JLA was more than glad to see one of her protege going well. Wally’s ghost was still hovering around her, them all, though. They also mourned him, for months && still. It was always difficult to lose one of the youngest ones. Plus both the speedster && the arched had always had a special soft spot in her heart. Opening her arms, Dinah hugged Artemis ; she was family after all. Oliver’s sidekick && Lian has brought the two families together, if you could say that like that.      “ You look good. ”

he’s been dreaming of this moment ever since he realized that when his body didn’t exist on earth, it existed somewhere else. ever since he realized he wasn’t dead and that one day wally could return to earth, to his friend and family, and return back to HER. it’s what drove him, kept the speedster from giving up when all hope was gone. he’d see her face and the way her eyes shined brightest when it was only THEM in a room, her lips curving into his favorite smile after he said something he’s guessing was STUPID. he’d always reach out and try to hold her, to say he’s SORRY for leaving her, for causing her pain. but as quickly as she was there she then was GONE. and wally had to just keep running faster. 

wally didn’t remember the rescue. everything since coming out of the speed force was a HAZE. he was alive but to what extent ?? but where he’s laying right now if wally had to guess it’s the INFIRMARY at the watchtower, kid flash could never forget the comfort of this bed, he would say he’s SAFE for the first time in who knows how long. all he has to do is open his eyes and take everything in, take in the fact that he’s alive, take in the fact he’s PRETTY sure there is someone next to him, and that someone he’s been wanting to see for quite some time now. all he has to do is open his eyes and wally does just that.

    he hates how WHITE the room is, vision blurred and blinding him like it has done many times ago in the past but that was the CAVE. things have changed and so has HE. she’s probably changed too. a groan escapes his lips as he blinks and tries to refocus. he wants more words to spill from his lips, wally wants to apologize, to scream how much he loves her and how much he missed her, but the words can’t come out of his mouth right now. seeing her for the first time, taking her all in, he’s not WHELMED at all. all he can do is SMILE. body protesting any possible movement so all he can do is look at her and give her that signature WALLMAN smile.

Honestly, @zoomenir && @arrowforged are the Spitfire you want on your dash. Not only Dinah loves them very much, but on a more ooc point, both muns are extras. I definitely recommend ! Don’t steal them away from us tho but yep ! We stan. A lot.

THERE’S  SOMETHING  ABOUT  JOINING  THE  TEAM  THAT’S  MAKING  HER  UNEASY.     she couldn’t really pinpoint if it’s the whole  ‘working with others’  kind of thing,  or the fact that these heroes have known each other for quite some time now;  knowing all the little details about their teammates that makes their dynamic much more efficient,  down to knowing all the trivial things about them like which one hates mayonnaise or ketchup.  she’s excited for this new team,  but her heart feels as though she’s not really...  one of them.  she has only been in the hero business for a year,  and they’re all certainly much more experienced than her.  it makes her feel a little isolated.

          usually,  stephanie only really opens up to tim or dick    (  since they’re the only ones she know by a long shot  ),    but it’s a quiet day and she finds herself dealing with bottled up emotions that are too much for her.      “   how am i supposed to work with people i barely even know?  what if they don’t like me?   “      she finds herself wondering out loud,  a reminder that she really needs to work on her inner monologue issues.          \          @arrowforged.   starter call.
