@emeraldxhood-blog
... Hi?
of2814:
“I might’ve had to become willpower to put an end to it,” which sounds like a big deal– and, honestly, it kinda is– but it’s not what’s weighing on him, so he doesn’t mind sharing it. “But it wasn’t Crisis level rough, thank god. More dealing-with-Sinestro-ever kinda level of rough.”
“Wait a minute. Like actual willpower? Like this ambiguous idea? Or is that just another cool code name?” Oliver asked. It sounded intense. And it sounded like way more of a big deal than Hal was making it out to be. “Sinestro’s a walk in the park for you by now, brother.”
damngreencanary:
“ The guy all the way down at the BOTTOM.”
“I’m giving you a head start, boy. Wouldn’t wanna embarrass you.”
I’m just gonna say this: great ideas don’t make for great execution.
sonicanary:
__________ Oh God, another ‘ i told you so ‘? Dinah was rummaging through a sterile bag at normal pace ; no rush it was in the shoulder, nothing that may damage organs so far. Just Ollie in pain. “ Thought you’d know by now that only Speedsters are faster than bullets, ” her brow quirked, she glanced over her own shoulder with a tiny smirk on the corner of her lips, teasing the man of her life for being so hotheaded.
The surgical glove whipped against her hand as she walked back over him, sitting on a stool & rolling by his side. Judging by the wincing on his face, it apparently hurt. “ Don’t offend me, babe, it’s not my first rodeo. ” her methods may not be that academic but it was efficient ! & painful.
She smiled more genuinely, “ We’re probably coming to the best part of playing doctor, let’s remove that suit of yours now, Robin Hood. ”
“I mean, I had to know if the arrow could out do a bullet. Maybe not the best time to test that theory,” he said. Did he have any alcohol down here? Damn. It must have all been upstairs in the kitchen. He could really use a drink right now to get through the pain. Maybe Dinah would be kind enough after all of this to share a nightcap.
He heard the glove give a whipping sound and turned his head to look at him. Fuck, this was real. This was really about to happen. He took a deep breath. He could do this, he tried to convince himself. He could. It was just a bullet. He’d gone through much worse... Mind you, he’d had an actual doctor in those situations and not just Dinah.
“Pretty Bird, if you wanted me to strip down, all you had to do was ask,” he teased, giving her a smile. Pain or no pain, Oliver was never going to lose his wit or suggestive thoughts. With his uninjured arm, he carefully pushed his sleeve off of his injured arm. He winced. “We can play doctor any time you like.”
I just finished reading Green Arrow #50... I hurt so much. I can’t believe that’s the final issue of the series. I can’t believe they left Ollie in that situation with no hint at what might come next. And him and Dinah? Just ugh! I dunno how I feel about it.
@sonicanary gets a random inspired starter
“Well, I guess we finally know what’s faster,” Oliver groaned out, collapsing into a chair. He bit down on the inside of his lip. Damn it, this hurt! He still was holding pressure against his shoulder. Occasionally, his gaze would move to fins Dinah, wherever she was in the lab, and then back to where the bullet had hit him as if he could see through his hand. He was starting to wonder if getting that arrow off had been worth the bullet.
He growled, another surge of pain rushing through his arm. He closed his eyes for a moment, leaning his head against the back of the chair. Yeah, bullets fucking hurt. He wasn’t doing this again.
“Please tell me you know how to take this thing out.” If she didn’t... Well, he was screwed until they could get a doctor, huh?
katherynwinnick: You’re late! Hurry up dammit..
atlantisking:
“ I’m American, yes, “ The towel is thrown back in the car, a small shake of his hair and a change of t-shirt and he’s mostly good as new. “ I never even seen Atlantis until I was eighteen and citizenship as a concept is not quite the same in Atlantis as it’s here. I don’t have papers to say that I’m someone from there, but blood decides that. I’m the eldest son of the queen and therefore the rightful king of Atlantis. So yes, that makes me Atlantean but in my files I’m pretty sure my nationality is still American… though who knows, if I try to bring Atlantis in as a member of the UN, I might need to make that change. Formalities matter. “
Slipping his hands in his jeans pocket he started walking towards the bar, glancing towards Oliver. “ You know, you’re the other rich guy in this theme, can’t you have some kind of bat blocking technology if you’re so against him watching us all the time. You both have pretty impressive toys. “ A soft chuckle, though he doesn’t really mean it as an insult. At the question on his drinking abilities he shrugs, ignoring the name. “ I’m- I might not be the biggest drinker out there and leave it at that. As I said, apple cider for me works, and you drink whatever you want then if you’re so tough. “
“I thought being a CEO was hard,” Oliver said. Not that he particularly tried at that. He typically let someone else handle business for him. Oliver had never been good at that. But he would never let anyone else’s name be put on the masthead. No. The business was his father’s legacy and therefore, it was Oliver’s to carry it. He’d lost it before. Never again.
Oliver chuckled. So, Arthur wasn’t a big drinker. Interesting. He certainly looked like he could hold his own. Oliver imagined, if anyone walked into a bar, Arthur would not be someone they’d want to try to outdrink. It seemed that looks certainly could be deceiving. As they reached the bar, Oliver opened the door for his companion.
“Here’s the thing,” he sighed. “I probably could have something built that would offset or counterbalance whatever tech Bruce has on us to keep him from watching. The problem is Bruce is so damn paranoid, he’s about ten steps ahead of all of us. And I don’t feel like trying to keep up with him. I have a life outside of all of this, unlike him.”
of2814:
“Yeah.” Rolls off his tongue so easily it’s not even really a lie– he can make himself be okay if he needs to be. “I mean, it was rough, but we won.” Though that didn’t mean nothing had been lost.
“How rough we talkin’?” Oliver asked. Hal was definitely avoiding something. Oliver wanted to get it out of him and it was in his character to push too far. However, he also didn’t want to upset the other man any further.
@emeraldxhood
“ Come on old man, keep up.”
“Old man? Who you callin’ old?”
Send me “OH!” to see how my muses reacts to yours walking in on them getting dressed.
Alternatively, send me “HEY!” for my muse walking in on yours.
I really just wanna say that I miss @sonicanary and she’s the fucking best!
smoakiism:
Immediately the thought that crossed through her head naturally slipped out of her lips at his attempt at a compliment “Just call me Smoak the clown.” Too easily though she found herself glancing up at him and smiling. At least sometimes when she just blurted things like that out she could go with it like now. It made processing this whole interaction easier right now anyway.
She held the drive loosely in her hand, fidgeting with it for a second before thinking to herself that she just needed to put on her big girl hacker pants and just get it over with. “Well, let’s just focus on getting you in and out right now– of my office. In and out of my office and then we can go from there.”
She didn’t even look up at that statement, her red face turning towards her computer and plugging the drive in and connecting it to her computer. As predicted a few seconds of tapping away at her computer and she was saying, “Alright I’m in”
“I wouldn’t go that far. Clowns are nowhere near as attractive as you. Otherwise, most people wouldn’t fear them,” he pointed out. She smiled at him and he couldn’t help but return it. He liked Felicity Smoak. Probably more than he should. She had a genuine spirit and that was something Oliver didn’t see often. If he wasn’t working with the League, he was usually with other business people or fighting off rogues. He didn’t get close to people too often. Too busy.
The Green Arrow gave her a side eye and cocked eyebrow when she made her accidental innuendo. So, it wasn’t just when he was Oliver. She was just naturally like this. Good to know. How did she walk through life making comments like that, though? He chuckled softly.
His earpiece suddenly came to life after a period without communication.
“Where are you?” the voice asked. His younger sister, Emiko. He’d told her to go home for the night, but he was certain his stubborn teenage sister hadn’t listened. It wasn’t the way she did things. Emiko loved their work as heroes and she was unlikely to cut the night short if her brother was still out there. Oliver turned slightly away from Felicity.
“Working on getting us a lead. Go. Home. Speedy,” he said in a low voice in hopes of not disturbing the hacker.
“It’s Red Arrow,” and then she went silent. He turned back to Felicity, hearing her announce her success.
“Good. Good. That’s great. How long until...” He paused and gestured to the computer shortly. “Whenever you get the information I need? Is there something I need to do?”
of2814:
“We almost got replaced by the Darkstars, but it’s all good.” Hal shrugs, and forces the guilt in that memory away. Ollie hadn’t even known Tomar-tu, there wasn’t a point in bringing it up.
“Darkstars? Sounds menacing,” Oliver said. He noticed his friend’s shrug. It didn’t feel as nonchalant as Hal probably intended it to be. He turned more toward him. “You alright?”
