The memories of September 11 are certainly overwhelming and I’m thankful for the timing of my feature this month in Califragile to share my poems reflecting on post-war recovery. Though originally focused on the events of Hiroshima and Nagasaki during WWII, the sentiments surrounding the recovery post-9/11 are similar.

"Building Community, One Tile at a Time"
In collaboration with the Utah Jazz* and AT&T, Art Access is hosting four workshops where people from the community can help create tiles that will be used to create an art mural on the south wall of the Artspace Bridges building in mid-May.
Professional artists, Wayne Geary and Louise Fischman, will direct the design and construction of the mural.

Join Art Access and the Utah Arts Festival for the ArtSpace Holiday Show
December Holiday Stroll: Friday, December 6, 6 - 9 p.m.
More than 60 local artists will be participating in this year’s Holiday Show. Both Art Access Gallery and the Utah Arts Festival Gallery will be open.
If your holiday list calls for hand-crafted, one-of-a-kind creations, then the ArtSpace Holiday Show is where you'll find them. More than 60 local artists have created a variety of unique items, including whimsical ceramic teapots, small paintings, mixed media works, pencil drawings, jewelry, photographs, sculptures in various mediums, collages, holiday ornaments, woodwork, home decorations and stained-glass jewelry boxes.
Cellist Tracie Price will provide music for the evening, and light refreshments will be served. A tree decorated with original holiday cards will also be displayed, adding sparkle to the night.
The Holiday Show is open during our regular business hours, Monday through Friday, with special holiday hours on Saturday, December 7 and Saturday, December 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Holiday Show closes on December 18.
