One of my friends is hosting a Pokémon collab, and looking fot participants to help draw a Pokémon so there will be a drawing of every new Pokémon in gen IX
if you are interested in applying here is the application.Even if you don't have time or are uninterested, it would be awesome if you could share it with your friends. We'd love to see ya there.
Okay has anyone else ever had an issue with ibispaintx getting slow randomly? Like I’ll draw a line and it’s SUPER delayed.
(This doesn’t usually happen so I’m trying to figure out if it’s my tablet being wonky or if the app needs to update soon or something.)
@MY FELLOW ARTISTS
There is an app called Sketches, by a company called Tayasui. It's incredibly good for its cost, it's free unless you pay like 3 dollars for more tools and multiple layers with Multiply mode (which I recommend). You can use a variety of incredibly smooth tools, you can change size and opacity, it's honestly so so good for a smart phone/tablet app, and the only problem I can find with it is that it doesn't have a fill tool (although you can fill with screentones!). Now, all of this is pretty great, right? I also just found out you can connect all sorts of tablet pens to it. If any of you are gonna be drawing/doodling on your phones, this is honestly probably some of the best you can get. And of course, you can import photos, to color and such.
Obviously the ideal product would still be one that has photoshop-like capabilities with images, but hey, this is a phone app we're talking about. And it's great! If you've tried it before and didn't like it much, I highly recommend trying it again. The newer updates made it so much smoother. Check it out!

FEB 1 DEADLINE FOR NON-COMPETITIVE SCHOLARSHIPS TO MFA IN BERLIN AND NYC
Saw this press release and I thought my fellow tumblr artists might be interested.
Transart invites applications for the MFA Creative Practice. All admitted students who apply before the February 1 early deadline will be granted a two-year partial scholarship of $7,840.
We welcome your application if you: - are a working artist (in any field) who is committed to developing a vital and sustainable artistic practice, while continuing to work from your home studio, - want to add exhibitions, screenings, or performances of your work in Berlin and New York to your CV within the next two years, - like to work independently but want to benefit from year-round support, including individual faculty advising, crit groups, and online exchange — as well as one-on-one reviews with artists, curators and theorists, - are excited about the prospect of truly transforming your work in a multidisciplinary and international setting through annual 3-week summer residencies in Berlin and 1-week winter residencies in NYC.
Transart offers a unique low-residency experience in two of the most exciting creative cities in the world. Joining this program means becoming part of a network of faculty, students, and alumni who are distinctively collaborative, creative, and successful.
We will consider applications from students without a first degree who can show evidence of relevant professional experience. Students who have previous graduate-level coursework can apply credits towards advanced standing. Students who are interested in earning a practice-based PhD can apply for the fast-track after one-year on the MFA program.
Questions? Transart faculty member Michael Bowdidge would be happy to speak with you and put you in touch with other faculty, students and alumni. Just drop him a line at: [email protected] Or chat with Michael and director Klaus Knoll about the program, the opportunities it provides, the requirements to get in, financial aspects, anything you can think of. OH GOD I SENT THE WRONG PAYMENT RECEIPT FOR MY PORTFOLIO DOCUMENTATION IM GONNA PUKE THIS COULD RUIN EVERYTHING
Oh RISD.
I sent off my RISD drawings from FedEx with fifteen minutes to spare before they closed. Every light I hit on the way there was red too. But it's okay, in the end RISD will receive my drawings on Monday, so that's one less worry.
Now I'm lookin' at you Cooper Union.
I have 2/6 of the prompts done. I think I'm going to redo one of them though, if I have the time to. Which I probably won't despite my best efforts. February 21 I am just going to sleep in celebration of being done with sending applications. And then wake up to the realization that I have a mountain of school work to catch up on. And of course, I can also start worrying about financial aid from colleges instead of applications.
Eat your heart out April, February is in fact the cruelest month.
