Things I am liking about Art Detectives
NO sexual chemistry between Mick (Stephen Moyer) and his younger, female DC Shazia Malik. Instead, they encourage one another's potential relationships with other people.
Mick and Shazia hit it off on their first case and he hired her away from a boss who didn't respect her because she 's 1) a woman, 2) Pakistani, and 3) his inferior on the force.
Shazia, as a Muslim, notably never drinks alcohol.
Moyer dresses beautifully, has a beautiful house, and got to play the piano a bit in the latest episode.
Mick is very good at his job, but rather a disaster at everything else.
They don't try to downplay Moyer's age and make him an action hero. Shazia or someone else gets to chase and tackle suspects.
