With regards if this ask
I ask because I find it difficult to replicate the twst shading style and I find the way you do yours is amazing
Ohhh, well then in that case, it really is just the lasso tool with the occasional softening of the edges with the eraser on airbrush mode :,))) It isn’t really all that special!
I think when it comes to shading to replicate the TWST style, (which I think I’ve done rather poorly,) the placement is more important rather than tools used. You can use any ol’ hard brush pen on probably any art program and be able to roughly achieve the look of the TWST characters. I just use the lasso tool since it’s more convenient and easier on the wrist ಥ_ಥ
My process kind of looks like this(?)
So;
Flats
Shading (1st pass) with blurring and erasures
Shading (2nd pass) on the “darkest” areas
Highlight (hair diamonds)
Highlight (wrinkles in clothes)
Highlight (air brush on clothes)
I usually do the face last because it gives me a better sense of what the overall look reads like so far!
But thank you for thinking positively about my work! I’m thankful that my efforts in replicating the coloring style of Twisted Wonderland is at least somewhat passable :)))
