For lineart specifically (monochrome stuff), if your layer is in "color" mode, liquify tool will most likely blur it during transformation...
If you set it to "monochrome" first, IT STAYS CRISPY 🤯🤯🤯
It was tested in version 1.x of csp so even if you NEVER upgraded it, it should still work for you!!!
UPDATE!!! (for versions 2.1+)
The thing abt "don't use black for shading" is that if you use black for soft shading it WILL indeed make your drawing look muddy as hell BUT if you use black for rlly dark and defined shadows it'll turn into the coolest thing anyone's ever made
