A NEW LAIKA-themed art trail is coming to downtown Portland, and this time it's about the crows of Wildwood!

"Wildwood: Follow the crows" Is an upcoming spiritual successor to Coraline's Curious Cat Trail. A whole murder of oversized crow statues will be installed around the Portland metro area from August 7 to November 1, in order to promote the film and invite tourists!

The Achieving of the Bees

We did it!

We have now seen ALL of the Bee in the City bees!!

Both the 101 art trail bees - I would say big bees but 4 of them were actually small bees. No reason given for that. Did the artist only want a small one, did they run out of big bees, were delivery mistakes made? No idea.

and the 131 smaller, community designed and decorated bees.

It was fun to become a tourist in the city I live in. To go to areas of the city I don’t usually visit as well as places I’ve never been before (and will probably never have reason to go back to).

It did have its downsides. The trek out to the airport to see the one bee there took an hour. We trailed all the way out there, took photos, had a short bathroom break, and got back on the tram into town again.

But on the plus side we got to see a ton of free public art, to walk around, for the most part, in the sunshine, and to have fun.

Which was the point of doing it in the first place.

Well, that and BEES!!
