Kore called out softly to Artemis, watching the goddess approach as the little one sat on the front steps of her home in Nysa. The night air felt cool on the young goddess’s face, and Nyx was already ruling up in the heavens. The stars shone bright, and the little woman was watching them with a captivated gaze. So many places those stars shone over, so many areas of the world that Kore wanted to visit. But for now, the dark eyes on a pretty face would have to be content with watching.

She wasn’t surprised by Artemis’s visit, Demeter had told her the huntress would be spending a few days with them. Kore didn’t suspect anything of it, she was rather excited actually. She liked the virgin goddess. Artemis was one of the few Olympian gods Mother allowed her to spend time with.
