So I know I'm feeling about better today, because I started creating again. I sat down and actually came out with the extended backstory for the Mandalorian I've decided to name Artay, and was even working on a drawing of her. It's really interesting to me to write for her, because she's the first like, truly non-redeemable main character I have written. She does bad things and does them absolutely for the wrong reasons. Dr. Victre is an Imperial, but she's a medic and she joined the Empire with the intention of helping and serving, and seeing the Galaxy. She never acts to harm an individual, only heal. And I honestly believe if she ever encountered a dying person, even a Rebel, she would help them at her own personal cost. Tsiri was an Imperial, but joined as a child under the instruction of her father, who was looking out for her safety. She was physically and psychologically tortured into falling to the dark side, and even while she served the Empire, she intentionally faked reports saying she had killed Force sensitive children instead of bringing them to the Inquisitorius, in order to protect them from what was done to her. She fought and killed Jedi, but she was taught to view them as soldiers in a war. She has not killed an innocent since the day the Jedi Temple fell and she had to in order to survive; and has haunted her ever since. When she got the opportunity, she broke free and repented. She has honor. Now Artay? She has family legacy, prejudice, and cold-blooded revenge for her motivations. I'll try to share her story tomorrow.
