“Peace”

I lay next to you, head on your chest. We lay in silence, I listen to your heartbeat. Your arm is around my shoulder, your hand in mine. I can’t help but look up at you, only to see your eyes already looking at me. A smile forms on my lips, as does yours. The demons aren’t talking. It’s the most peace I’ve had in a while. I just want to take it all in. My heart can’t handle how much I have for you. No words can express how much I love you. I’ve told you this before, but I feel an urge to tell you again. “I love you more than anything in existence,” you whisper in reply. I beg you to never leave me. Despite me knowing you never would, I have to make sure. I close my eyes, bracing for an impact of “I can’t promise,” that my brain is prepared for. But it never comes. What does, are five words that comfort me the most; “I’m going to marry you.” I can’t help but smile, and curl further into your chest. “I’m going to marry you, too,” I reply, too speachless to utter anything other. I reach up to grab your face, and I pull you into a kiss. Before I know it, I’m pulling you back for more. As we kiss, I feel your arms tighten around me. I feel total bliss as I fall back, surrounded by your sheets. Finally. Peace.

Safety

When I see him, I know I am safe. Every scary thing in this world disappears. He will protect me. He will hold me when I crash. He will love me when I don’t love myself. And in return I will love him like no other. I will support him, as he supports me. I will never lie, nor break a promise, as he is my saviour. I will hold his hand through thick and thin. Love him unconditionally.
