“HEALTH AND UNITY THROUGH DIVERSITY"
by Raphael Delgado
In 1971 a group of idealists set out to provide care for the migrant farmworkers of the southern San Joaquin Valley that harvested our food but struggled to meet their own food needs, let alone shelter and health care. Today they have locations across Kern and Fresno Counties but many of their patients continue to report that @Clinica_Sierra_Vista was the first place they ever saw a doctor. This mural for Clinica Sierra Vista's community health center at Divisidero and U Streets in Fresno was created by Sacramento sculptor and painter Raphael Delgado. Delgado describes his work as linking aspects of abstract expressionism and abstract impressionism along with elements of cubism. Delgado's S Street studio is also a frequent destination for Sacramento's 2nd Saturday Art Walk. @artbyraphael/
