Written by Salkis Re(c)2017 When I created this painting I was trying to figure out what I wanted to express. The broken heart came out that I had carried for many years I longed to be, but I just wasn't born to look like the rest, so I waited for someone to have pity on me and feel sorry for my mess. And his pity came along with his 'come in' as he rolled up his sleeve yet I had no idea that his pity came with a price of what was between my knees. Waiting to be comforted and given joy turned me into someone's play toy. Then I learned to ask myself "Am I Beautiful?" And I found love when I answered myself saying "Yes!
