dilf!art and tashi asking babysitter!reader to move in with them ۶ৎ
after clearing the air with art, being around him began to feel easy again, the usual jokes you two shared, lingering touches and longing stares back for good.
when you’d come back from taking lily to the park, art was exercising in their home courts, lily’s eyes widening when she realised.
she begged you, giving her best puppy dog eyes (wonder where she learnt that from) until you finally caved, nodding your head as you handed her an ice lolly to cool off, running after her as she exited the house, descending the stairs to where the backyard and connecting home tennis courts were.
you heard him first, the sound causing an eruption of butterflies in your gut; the grunts and groans as he hit the multiple tennis balls against the wall, the sight accompanying the sound a welcomed one.
he smiled as he saw lily enter, pausing his training to give her a hug, the little girl grimacing and complaining about how sweaty he was; you on the other hand didn’t mind of course, committing the image of a glistening art donaldson flexing as he gripped the handle of the tennis racket, beads of sweat trickling down his toned body; oh you were for sure dj’ing to this later.
he smiled at you for a moment longer than he should’ve, his eyes trailing over your form just as you had done to him a second ago; lily began chatting your ear off as you two sat on the court side bench, nodding your head along to her words, mumbling a quick “yeah” “what?” as she rambled, lost on the sight of art playing tennis. god he was good.
“you’re not even listening to me,” lily piped up, pouting up at you as she crossed her arms, “oh sweetie i’m sorry, i’ve just never seen your dad play tennis before remember? that’s why you asked me to watch with you silly! so i’m just taking it all in ha!” you awkwardly rambled, eyes wide as you realised just how caught out you were, the side smirk art held showing that he’d heard lily too.
“you play?” art suddenly asked, using the towel he brought along to wipe the sweat on his brow, jogging over to the two of you as he stood right in front of you, hands on his hips as he looked down at you.
you gulped, words dying in your throat as you got the most up close and personal view of art’s shirtless body, eyes going hazy at the sight, “oh no—god no i can’t play ball sports to save my life,” you snorted, averting your gaze when you realised you had stared for too long, looking at lily briefly before forcing yourself to keep eye contact with him, lifting your hand to shield your eyes from the sun.
“i did cross country in high school—i mean that should say enough,” you laughed, art’s eyes crinkling in response as he laughed, his body moving just an inch to stand in your sun, shielding both you and lily form the harsh sun as its rays hit his back instead of your eyes, the action so minuscule you wouldn’t have noticed it if you weren’t overanalysing every little thing he did.
“i could teach you if you’d like? i’ve tried teaching little missy here but it just won’t stick, so maybe it will with you?” he snickers, tickling lily’s side before looking at you again, clearing his throat.
you awkwardly laughed in response, shaking your head; god knows you’d never be able to focus if art had to teach you tennis.
“as much as i appreciate it—i’d just end up making a fool of myself,” you snickered, both art and lily bursting with laughter, their noses scrunching in the same way, your cheeks warming at the sight.
unbeknownst to all three of you, tashi had watched the entire ordeal, sunglasses perched on the bridge of her nose as she fiddled with the rock around her ring finger, face twisting into a smirk as she leaned forward on the railing of the balcony, letting out a slight scoff as she watched you and art.
god you were kind of foolish to think tashi wouldn’t catch on to your more than inappropriate feelings for art, and his for you, the woman knew of everything that went on around her, down to the most insignificant things.
your conversation with lily grew sillier and sillier by the second, the little girl rocking back and forth with laughter.
“so he asked you out! on a date?! and what did you say to him?!!” she excitedly exclaimed, putting her hands to her lips as she squealed. the moment art heard these words falling from his daughter’s lips his face hardened, the sound of the ball getting softer and softer as it lost its momentum, his grip on the racket tightening as he casted a glance toward you and lily.
art had no right to be jealous, the thought of you with someone else, with someone your age shouldn’t have angered him like it did but his ever growing desire for you clouded all forms of radical thinking, you shouldn’t be going out on dates with anyone that wasn’t him.
“yeah lil’s—i said yes but i uh changed my mind afterwards—he wasn’t really my type anyway,” you timidly smiled, shrugging your shoulders.
art let out a sigh of relief at your words, a smirk making its way to his face as he made eye contact with you over his shoulder, blue eyes fixed on you until you looked away, laughing to himself as you avoided his gaze.
lily’s earlier prying into your private life prompted this conversation with tashi; he’d gone to her under the guise of you needing to be there more for lily, and since you already stayed there most of the time, might as well make it official and have you move in.
tashi knew the real reason behind his little offer, she could see it in the way his face ticked anytime you’d mention a friend that happened to be a guy, anytime you’d mention going out and there being men there; he couldn’t take it and tashi found it hilarious.
and who was tashi duncan if not someone who wanted to see how all this would play out, how long it would take the two of you to finally crumble and just fuck after you’d move in; so she agreed.
you’d gotten back from bringing lily home, surprised to find not only art but tashi too, “woah you’re both home early, everything okay?” you asked, closing the front door as you set lily’s bag down onto the living room table.
“no, no everything’s fine,” tashi hummed, tapping her perfectly manicured nails on the marble counter in the kitchen, her gaze steady and unreadable.
you nodded, waiting for either one of them to speak up, you were feeling real isolated right now, your heart drumming through your ears as you overthought this impromptu meeting; had you done something wrong to upset tashi? was she firing you? had she somehow found out about your sick and twisted fantasies about her husband??
she cleared her throat before speaking, “art and i were talking and we thought it’d be better for you to move in; i mean you spend most of your time here anyway, and we figured having you full time would be better for lily,” she shrugged, your eyes widening as you let out a sigh of relief.
“we already talked to lily and she loves the idea, we’d obviously increase your pay seeing as you’d be with us longer, so uhm what do you say?” art piped up, curling his lips after he’d taken a sip of one of his yucky green smoothies.
you stood there in silence, contemplating their offer; i mean more money? a much fancier room than your dull overpriced apartment and a twenty four hour view of art donaldson? it couldn’t get any better than this right?
before you even knew it you were nodding your head, mumbling the word’s “yes i’d love to,” as you smiled at tashi, that innate need to make her like you taking you over.
you swore you saw art practically cream his pants at your words, looking down as you tried to hide your smile at his reaction, “great, we’ll send someone to help you with your things so you can get settled in as soon as possible,” tashi spoke, slipping her purse over her shoulder as she walked up to you, her keys jingling in her palm.
“i’m pleased you’re agreeing to this,” she paused, placing a hand onto your shoulder, “art is too,” she whispered, a knowing smile gracing her angelic features as she walked to the front door.
after a few days you were finally settled in your more than spacious room in the donaldson home, your little trinkets littered all over, posters up on the walls, stuffies on your bed as well as some on a shelf, making the room feel more at home.
art had just put lily to bed, per her request, giving you some time to yourself as you washed up and readied for bed, the little girl tiring you day in and day out.
you’d just finished your skincare routine when a knock sounded out on your door, mumbling a soft “coming,” as you rinsed your hands, drying them off with a towel as you shuffled over to open the door, being met with the sight of a very domestic art donaldson, hair a little messy, grey tee soft against his hardened chest. god this was going to be way more difficult than you thought.
“can i come in?” he asked, rubbing his hands together, shamelessly gawking at the white tank top and shorts you called sleepwear, your nipples hard against the fabric, just about begging him to wrap his lips around them.
“yeah ‘course,” you spoke softly, standing to the side to let him in; you kept the door open, for fear that if you closed it you’d give in to the temptations the devil on your shoulder tempted you to.
“i see you’re all settled in?” he spoke, his hand moving to pick up the slightly beat up shark plushie on your bed, one of its fin’s missing, his nose scrunching as he laughed, eyes crinkling in tandem.
you face palmed yourself in response, “don’t laugh! i’ve had him for years okay! he’s really special to me,” you giggled, watching as art dropped the plushie and lifted his hands in mock surrender, his chest still shaking with laughter.
you absolutely adored seeing him this smiley, the frown lines etched into his brow disappearing for this slight second, his boyish charm shining through.
the air grew silent between the two of you, pulling your knees to your chest as you sat against your pillows, watching art take a seat at edge of bed.
“y’know you fit right in here, you’ve been with us for so long it feels normal—i’m glad you agreed to this,” he finally spoke, breaking the silence.
you nodded along to his words, smiling softly to yourself as you moved to fiddle with a loose string from the stitching of your bedding, completely missing the way art had been looking at you, god he worshiped the ground you walked on and you didn’t even realise it.
in that same way, you hadn’t even realised his hand sliding towards yours, only feeling the warmth from his skin once his hand was completely covering yours.
for a moment you let his touch linger, looking up to meet his eyes, his thumb softly stroking the back of your hand. you allowed yourself to get lost in his touch, only for a moment till the angel on your shoulder reminded you of your reality, taking back your hand with a speed that made it seem as if a touch to his skin hurt, and in a way it did, it hurt to allow yourself to get lost in whatever this was cause it would never happen.
the angel on your shoulder reminded you of this as you awkwardly cleared your throat, mumbling some shit excuse to get art to leave.
moving in was your worst idea yet wasn’t it?
