It’s the middle of the night, and my muse just climbed into your muse’s bedroom window. artemisticblonde

“Please don’t send me away…” she whispered after stepping into the room. She had known this was a little unconventional, climbing in a window, but the door was locked and she really, really did not want to be alone right now. Her mind going a million places after the night she had and the last thing she needed was to be by herself in her empty apartment at home. Sure she could go to the office or work on her computers but it wasn’t the same as having company.

To be fair, this whole situation was partly his fault. He hadn’t been paying attention to where he was going, too stuck in his own head. A short collision later and he had ended up with an armful of young blonde woman and the ground solid under his back. 

“Oh, if my mother could see me now,” he quipped, slightly breathless.

Misfit wasn’t supposed to be here, but then again, when was Misfit ever supposed to be somewhere that had a massive firefight or  But she had seen it on Oracle’s monitor and they needed help! And hadn’t she proven herself time and time again? Charlie could do this! She could help, right?

So, she poofed in the middle of the attack declaring Dark Vengeance- she wasn’t sure what this was all about, but she could clearly tell the good guys from the baddies. This would be fantastic, right? Charlie slugged one of them in the stomach, glancing around to make sure the others were okay- the blonde in green came up first. Artemis, right? That was her name. She was an archer and she was really cool.

But Charlie saw something before she did-- It was like slow motion, just like what she saw when that lady threatened Huntress. The aiming of the gun... the trigger pulled. 

“Hey! Watch out!” Charlie’s scream was accompanied by a bounce. 

She poofed in front of Artemis with puffs of pink smoke.... But she didn’t feel the familiar pain in her stomach. Immediately, she whipped around to find Artemis shot- damn it! Charlie bounced behind the moron that had shot her, took him out, and was immediately next to her again. ‘Porting had it’s benefits. 

“Hello! No no no no I don’t know how to fix this really don’t know how fuck no no no!” Misfit was objecting vigorously, moving in to try and help her and stop the bleeding... But still, all the while, all she could thing of is one thing.

How could she have been too slow?.

Owen watched the girl walk across the clearing, one eyebrow raised. For a long moment, he didn’t say anything, sticking to the shadows and just observing. When he did speak up, there was a slightly amused tone to his voice.
