Initial tasks to start the brainstorming/initial research tasks

On the exam paper you will find a series of bullet points with a series of words that could link to the exam theme of Freedom and /or limitations In the post below I have added some sets of words that take your initial research beyond considering other directions.

Begin by selecting 8 rows of words from the list below or you could create sets of your own.

Select 3 of them and with these three using secondary sources from the internet find:

Finally create 3 visual illustrations from secondary and primary images that uses the stats research as inspiration.

The importance of ideas as freedom – you can chain someone but can you get people to stop thinking? (1984, big brother, etc)

Limitations of codes and passwords, impenetrable

Locks, restrictions, tied, chained, cages, hostages, partitions, boxes

Struggle for liberation, war, social and political order

Intentionally confuse, illegible, visual riddles, text that cant be read

Can cultural identity be a restriction? Or bring freedom?

Cocoons, dens, homes, nests

Lighting and mirrors can give the illusion of making something small seem bigger

Forbidden areas or hidden places – mystery

Comfortable and free – not conforming to preconceived stereotypes

Drones? Repressive agents of surveillance? The future? Blade runner?
