Hot! so many adult characters in my mind(literally two of them) would be so damn fine!!!
We have The White haired king, the owner of the black crown, and Arthur Gates, like I know Mr.Gates and The King are Eugh~<3
Arthur Gates doesn't even have that much of a character description, unlike the King who does. But I absolutely KNOW, deep in my SOUL that these two are attractive!!! :(
unsure if i posted these here, but gonna do it (again) anyway. a canon drabble from the old shoe box.
It's been five months since Arthur had changed his mind. I want to marry you, someday. Not right now. I don’t know when, but I’m going to ask you someday. He had been thinking about it when he first saw Adrian standing at the altar behind his friend as he was about to get married. It was deliberating to tell Adrian those words, making their Mexico trip even more special than it already was. As soon as they were back in Canterbury, he had forgotten about it for a while until Adrian dropped a hint. That's when he started to put money aside to eventually buy Adrian an engagement ring. There was just this one thing that was still stopping him from actually go out and continue with his plan. He felt like if he was buying the actual ring, it would become all so real. It was scaring him. Arthur had been so close to buy one but it had been when he and Adrian were fighting again. It had been out if frustration that he had showed Adrian he had been putting money aside in his side of the closet. From that moment, Arthur hadn't brought it up again. When Adrian hinted again, he pretended he hadn't heard it or dismissed it. When it came to big changes in his life, Arthur didn't want to rush anything. He wanted to be ready at his own time and Adrian was mostly giving him that time and space to get on the same level as he did.
"Monkey, what are you doing here?" She stopped stirring and turned to him, giving him a brief hug and then immediately turned back to the counter. "Would you like a cup of coffee?" she asked, already taking two mugs from the cupboard and setting them down on the counter before turning the coffee machine on. She didn't need her son's answer to know he wanted coffee.
"I was just in the neighbourhood and thought you could use some company." It was a lie; Arthur was nowhere near his parent's house, but he needed to talk to his mother. Only she he felt comfortable with enough to actually ask her about it. He still had to be carefully how he was going to approach this because he didn't want her to assume anything either.
She gave him a full coffee mug before putting the cookie jar on the table. Arthur didn't even hesitate a second while she grabbed her own mug. Arthur was already nibbling on a chocolate chip cookie as his mother grinned and sat down.
"You never change, do you?" Those gleeful eyes as she looked at him now held some sadness as well. It had been there since that day he had woken up in the hospital after alcohol poisoning and she found out about the HIV. She tried to be strong, he could tell, but it was also tough for her. That had been one of the reasons why he hadn't wanted her to know to begin with. "You're a lot like your father. Stubborn, quiet and grumpy mostly, always putting your foot down and not changing your mind... But not anymore, are you?"
"Mom, if I'm going to tell you something, will you promise me you won't say anything to anyone until I tell you you can?" He was serious, looking at her straight in the eye and not losing that eye contact with her.
She nodded. "I promise. You're my son, you can trust me."
It took Arthur a while before he could finally found the words he wanted to ask. He had never bothered to listen to the whole story of his parents' engagement before even though he was sure his siblings had asked her a couple of times. But even though he knew what he wanted to say, actually saying it was the biggest struggle. He had told Adrian and no one else. Telling his boyfriend had been a big deal already, but to open this part of him to the outside world was scaring him.
"Is this about you and Adrian?" she asked softly. Arthur was actually grateful for her starting to ask questions when she saw how he was struggling. He nodded his head. "You're not breaking up with him, are you? Because I swear to you, Arthur Jackson Gates, that if you break that boy's heart, you won't hear the end of it!"It was scary how stern she sounded, how threatening the words were.
Arthur was taken aback. "I not breaking up with him, don't worry. It's actually about..." His throat closed the second he was about to say 'proposing'.
His mother already filled in on the blank when she could tell her second oldest son was struggling. "Proposing to Adrian?" Arthur's eyes immediately shot up and baked at her with big eyes, shock and shyness written on his face. This always happened when his mother surprised him by already knowing before Arthur even spoke. Then he lowered his gaze. "Arthur, I knew since you brought him home the first time to meet us. You had this look in your eyes, the one on that picture."
Arthur groaned; that picture the photographer snapped of him at the wedding in Mexico when he wasn't looking, which Adrian had immediately sent to his parents before he could stop it. "Everyone always seemed to know what I will do before I even know myself."
His mother started to laugh softly. "Even if they do, you are getting there yourself eventually. That is what's most important; this is your life, Arthur. Only you can decide what you want to do with it. No one, not even me, can tell you how to live your life, but we can only advice you."
Arthur swallowed softly, licking his lips absentmindedly before looking back up at his mother. "What's the advice you can give me."
"Follow your heart." Those were the only words she gave him that afternoon about what he should do. She had switched the subject to something else after that, but Arthur kept thinking about her words when he left the house to go back home.
He had to follow his heart and his heart already knew what it wanted, only Arthur had her to realise what it really as. It wasn’t until a couple of days later that Arthur knew it: he was going to propose to Adrian soon.
headcanon: besides being good with cars and motors, arthur has green thumbs and used to help his parents out in the garden a lot when it is warmer. so when he and adrian have their own house with a backyard, arthur gets his own little vegetable garden and is really proud of his little crops.
The third part that is a srambled piece of whatever the fuck is going on to confuse the hell out of you. ;)

Adrian took a deep breath. He wasn't sure if he was ready to do this yet. What if he would fall back into that same place again, full if darkness and bad memories, feeling how his heart was shattered to small pieces and how much it was hurting. He was finally put together again bit je knew he had to face the reality someday. After all, he couldn't run away forever. He took another giant one last breath with his eyes closed before he opened them and shared into Logan's blue eyes. "Okay," he finally said, but still sounding unsure of himself. "I'm ready."
"Are you sure?" Logan asked, narrowing his eyes back at him and clearly not entirely convinced. "We can't go back after this so you have to be sure you want to do this."
Adrian swallowed thickly. "Just do it, Logan." He almost sounded impatient when he spoke again. But he closed eyes again quickly, not quite ready to face it all while watching it.
He listened to Logan moving around, he heard some shuffling and ripping but curiosity got a hold of him. He peaked through one eye to see what he is doing and immediately regretted it when his eyes immediately fell on a photo frame with a picture in it. Arthur was smiling into the camera, his hair ruffled and curly, but not that long yet. The perfect length for Adrian to run his hands through it and play with it, finding those sensitive spots that made Arthur moan quietly and relax. Adrian could see himself; scruffy look, hair almost just as curly and kissing his cheek. He remembered exactly the day they had taken that picture because it was one of those happy memories he had with Arthur, but it was also painful to thin about at the moment. He and Arthur had just arrived at their holiday destination in Mexico, one they both had been saving for a while and finally got to have their getaway. They had to get up really early that morning to drive to the airport and take the four hour flight. Arthur had been so adorable when he started to freak out thirty minutes before they boarded the plane, finding out that the reason was that he was scared was the cutest because his cheeks turned pink and he looked down bashful to his feet on the ground. With Adrian calming words and cuddling up to him, holding his hand the entire flight, Arthur had soon fallen asleep after they had taken off and slept through it all. They were both tired when they arrived at the hotel, but Adrian had convinced Arthur to take a picture of them two to send to their friends and family to let them know they had arrived safely. What Arthur hadn't thought was that at the very end, Adrian turned his face and kissed his cheek before taking a quick picture.
He didn't notice he was crying when he picked up the frame and held it tightly against his chest. He was rocking himself and sobbing uncontrollably before Logan could stop him. He turned to see his friend in such a state of devastation that Logan immediately put his arms around him and held Adrian until he stopped crying.

Thanksgiving, 5 years earlier
Adrian was relieved that when he woke up the next morning, he didn't feel like his head was splitting in two. That meant he didn't have as many drinks as he thought he had, but the pain he felt in his ass when he turned onto his side made him immediately remember what he and Arthur had done. He could see the handsome and naked body lying in the bed next to him. This was why he never hooked up with a stranger; he didn't want thinks to be awkward the following morning. Adrian slowly moved out of bed, wincing a little how uncomfortable his body felt before he limped to the bathroom. He took a quick shower before some painkillers to make him feel a little better and less painful in the bottom area. He had already grabbed some pajama bottoms and a normal shirt from his closet before going into the bathroom. Quickly making his way out he noticed Arthur was still lying unmoved in the bed so he left him there and joined Fiyero in the living room, who was whining and softly barking for his attention. He petted the dog before walking to the kitchen to turn on the coffee making machine and then made breakfast. He didn't know why he was being so domestic; he barely knew the guy and he was pretty sure that Arthur would leave the second he woke up.
He was sitting at the counter bar, drinking a cup of coffee when he heard Fiyero barking. When he looked around, Arthur walked out of the bathroom fully dressed and ready to leave. Neither of them spoke. What was there to say? 'Hey. So last night was fun. See you around, I guess?' That would for sure make things more awkward than they already were right now.
"I should probably get going..." Arthur started.
"Do you want to stay for breakfast..." Adrian said at the same time before both men immediately stopped talking and went back to silence. Then Adrian chuckled. "I don't usually hook-up like this so I don't know how to act, but I made breakfast and you're welcome to join me before you have to go. I'm sure you must be hungry after last night." Adrian started blushing at the memory.
The next moment, Arthur took a place at the counter bar next to Adrian and only smiled bashful back at him. Adrian served them both some toast and scrambled eggs along with some bacon and a cup of coffee for Adrian. The way Arthur was eating looked like he was starving to dead, but it was nice. They didn't talk much. Adrian asked how he had slept and Arthur had shrugged with a 'good'. He couldn't help feeling that maybe Arthur didn't like staying around and just ate his food as fast as he could so he could get out of there.
"Thanks for breakfast. And... last night." He stood up the second his plate was empty.
"No problem," Adrian said hesitantly. Even though he wasn't even close to finishing his own plate, he stood up and followed Arthur to the door. "Maybe we can do this again sometime? Hanging out, I mean." Adrian nervously rubbed his neck as he held onto the front door and looked down bashful.
"Maybe," Arthur said. "I'll see you around." He walked down the hall away from the apartment.
"Wait!" Adrian rushed after him for a short moment and caught him by the stairwell. "Have my number."
"I don't have a cell phone." Arthur shrugged. "I'll just come by."
Adrian swallowed and could only bid at that before Arthur was gone. It took him almost a minute to turn back around and prepare for Thanksgiving dinner later with his brother.

Random Wednesday evening, two years ago
"Can I get another one?"
Adrian was leaning half over the counter. The words came out with a slur after the tenth... or eleventh? He wasn't sure exactly how many drinks he had but after a while the buzzing in his head started to stop and he couldn't stop anymore until he was passed out somewhere. It had been the worst week of his life and he just wanted everything to be over right now.
"I think you have had enough, buddy," the cute bartender said with a smile. "Go home and sleep it off."
Adrian looked up slightly irritated. "What's your problem? What's a man got to do to get a drink around here?" He stood up from the barstool but forgot how much higher it was and how much drunker he actually was than he thought as he fell down on the ground.

After 2 AM, four and a half years ago
Adrian woke up by a loud noise. He only did because Fiyero started to bark as well. He looked over in bed to see his boyfriend was still asleep. The loud banging came again, along with Fiyero's bark before Zane started to stir awake.
"What's that?" he said groggy.
Adrian leaned over and kissed his cheek. "Go back to sleep, baby. Whoever it is I'll tell it to leave." Adrian quickly moved out of bed and moved out of the bedroom on his bare feet.
"Fiyero, shush," Adrian said when the dog was still barking when the banging continued. "I'm coming! One second." Adrian was barely awake himself as he reached the door, unlocked it and then opened the door to see Arthur standing there. He was shocked to say the least as he hadn't seen or heard anything from the guy in over six months. There was no denying by the smell and how he swayed back and forth, the unfocused look in his eyes, that Arthur was drunk. “What are you doing here?”
His face seemed to light up when he saw Adrian but he was nearly losing his balance when he let go of the wall he was supporting himself onto. “Adrian! Oh man, am I glad to see you! You know,” he said as he leaned in a little closer, nearly toppling over into Adrian who held him steady by his shoulders, “you have a really cute face. I always liked your face. I can’t stop thinking about your face.” He leaned in closer, his eyes closed and his mouth slightly open, ready to kiss Adrian.
He stopped him. “Arthur,” Adrian said with a harsh and stern voice, grabbing Arthur’s attention immediately as he watched those unfocused blue eyes open again. “You’re drunk. Go home.”
“I don’t have a home.” The words came out whiney but Arthur quickly started to laugh at that. “You’re my home!”
Adrian was completely thrown off by Arthur’s quick and first answer. ‘I don’t have a home’. The words lingered in his head as he watched Arthur in front of him going about laughing and being drunk off his ass. Even if he didn’t knew anything about the guy apart from what one night at Thanksgiving the year before, Adrian couldn’t just close the door and leave him there. Where would he go? He just said he didn’t have a home!
He grabbed Arthur’s arm and put it around his neck while he slipped his arm around the small waist of the guy to support him. “Come on, let’s get you into bed.” It was a good thing Adrian had a guest room in his apartment because his brother had often come over and was too drunk to go back home so he ended up in the guest room sleeping it off as well. Besides, his own bed was already occupied.
Adrian dragged him into the guest bedroom, Fiyero following them curiously and trying to sniff at Arthur’s jeans. Adrian put Arthur down on the bed before he helped him take off his coat and his shoes. He really smelled badly. He didn’t even want to think what he’d been doing the past months, or what he hadn’t been doing, like taking a shower perhaps. The guy was half asleep already the second he hit the soft mattress and long before Adrian could even make sure he was okay, he heard the soft sound of snoring. He walked into the bathroom to grab some painkillers and to fill a glass of water as he put them the bedside table. Then he tabbed Arthur a couple of times on the chest as he shrug awake.
“Take this. Then drink all of the water from the glass,” Adrian ordered him as he watched the guy – looking really cute with that sleepy look on his eyes – take the painkillers without a huff and chugged down all the water from the glass before he fell back on the bed again.
Adrian took the glass with him when he walked out, Fiyero right behind him and closing the door. He sighed while he washed the glass before going back to his own bedroom. Zane had already been back to sleep when he crawled in behind him. He was really tired but it took him a long time before he finally fell asleep, thinking about the drunk boy in the next room.
Adrian shrugged awake when he felt soft lips to his temple. He met green eyes of Zane and a friendly and charming smile.
“You were pretty out of it so I thought I’d let you sleep. I’m off to the office now. I’ll call you later, yeah?” Zane said. He looked so dashing in his suit; so handsome and sexy as well. Adrian would’ve grabbed him by his tie to get him back in bed if he wasn’t so tired. He hummed softly when those lips met his own now before Zane walked away. Not long after the front door closed and it was quiet again.
Adrian closed his eyes but then he was reminded of what happened the night before and why he was so tired.
Arthur.
He got up, yawning a moment before he put on a pair of socks and brushed a quick hand through his hair before he walked out. Adrian was so happy for Zane living with him and making a large cup of coffee in the morning when he had to go to the office earlier than he had to go to the school. He decided to fill two mugs with the black caffeine with Fiyero wagging his tail by his legs.
“Hey, buddy,” Adrian cooed happily at him scratching him behind his ear and giving him a treat like he always does in the morning.
He then grabbed the two mugs and walked to the guest bedroom. From what he remembered last time, Arthur liked to have a cup of coffee black. However, when he walked into the bedroom, being greeted by a smell mixture of alcohol and something else, there was no Arthur to be found. The jacket and shoes Adrian had placed by the chair were gone as well and the bathroom was empty too.
Arthur was gone once again and Adrian had no idea where he went again this time. How did you look for a guy who didn’t have a home?
Sometimes I wish my characters were real and I could talk to them, hug them, go out and have drinks with them, get drunk with them, maybe even sleep with them, idk. They would be my best friends.
