I can't help but wonder, but what caused Nestor and Lateef to split up in your AU? How well did little Spyro take it, since he decided to stick with Nestor in the end?
Does Spyro ever occasionally go visit his other dad from time to time?

Not every relationship dissolves through bad blood, sometimes it's just natural! They kept on good terms and co-parented well although Nestor was more hands-on than Lateef, Lateef was that second safe space for when things got difficult between Spyro and Nestor (They're both stubborn (Spyro more so), some say he never got it from Malefor, he gets it from Nestor).
For how Spyro handled it? Not very well. Like every small child was he was confused and angry, it was the first something had TRULY gone wrong for him; in his short little life at that point, he had never been given into trouble, never truly been injured or never felt sadness or anger to this extent. It was a new and confusing experience, and it was the first sign of his true destructive nature. Some dragons found it concerning considering his family, others brushed it off as what it was- a Kid acting out. It took time to get used to, but that also doesn't stop him from still harbouring some form of disdain for his parents new partners, or possible partners. After this he became a little more protective over what he deemed as 'His'. His family had fallen apart and in his young mind he believed he should've protected it.
Spyro spent a lot of time at the Dreamweavers, this is why he's very involved in both Dreamweaver and Artisan religion. I originally would've said weekends but i'm still working out the religion aspect, as Artisans and Dreamweavers have services on the same day, just at different times.
I like to think it's also why Spyro has a little lazy streak to him; while it seems the Artisans do like to Laze about, I find its' more in tune with the relaxed nature of Art or Art as a form of Therapy, rather than in the Sleepy Dreamweaver sense.
Spyro might not be as close to Lateef as he once was, but he still has a deep love of the Dreamweavers and how they raised him in his youngest years.
