Both frigidly haunting and warmly dreamy comes Lonely Ghost, a swirling, chillwavey, nu-gazey synthpop jam from solo Canadian artist and multi-instrumentalist Artisan Loyalist. The hazy song is the title track off the artist's debut album, and it immediately pulls me into a deep and foggy reverie. Its languid aspect brings to mind some of Washed Out's music, but the spacious synthwork also reminds me of Neon Indian, but far less urgent. Artisan Loyalist's Lonely Ghost album is out this week on Sky Council Recordings.
