The performer is encouraged to chose the order in which several loose-leaf pages are played in the centre of the bound score. Therefore, although the piece always begins and ends the same way, certain events will occur in different places.

This piece borrows its title from sculptures by New York artist Allan McCollum: Over Ten Thousand Individual Works (1987/88) is a collection of unique pieces made from casts of ordinary objects that are combined to form an Individual Work.

Water eroded rubble from the Leslie Street Spit - a dumping ground for sand, broken bricks, cinder blocks and earth dredged from construction projects across the city - is scavenged and converted into equipment for ballistic exercises. In between weight-lifting sessions they serve as attractive floor sculptures.
