theartassignment Artistic Alchemy
The idea behind this assignment is to make something beautiful from something that would otherwise be headed for the trash or recycling pile. The objects I chose are small cardboard place holders that come in the packaing for the CD sleeves we use to store and ship the master copies of the audiobooks we produce at work. Thinking about the way they are used to separate CD sleeves, I started thinking about music and album covers and these little lyric cards are what came of that train of thought. I had a set of markers from the #assemblyline assignment with megmotherwort. So I tried them out o the cardboard and I was really happy with how the “Pointless Beauty” card came out when made that one almost as an experiment, but I liked it and the process of creating it so much that I made a full set. They’reall based on songs and/or specific lyrics that have really resonated iwht me at one point or another. The last one is actualy my current favorite song.
Anyway, thanks for reading and checking out my #artassignment. I hope you enjoyed it! And check out the musical inspiration. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLS1OWxMDszhye-x0A13NqcJJ6oDnFE_Yp
