A still life study of Bakus fighting over a Baku Cupcake.
Please enjoy.
Some little sea creature studies from when I had some pretty bad art block back in fall 2020.
There’s a leafy sea dragon, a blue dragon, a nudibranch (sea slug), and a vampire squid.
Late Night Artistic Study
Untitled Scanography by Toby Braun Nov 2015
Wow, life was kinda kicking my butt there for a while. I suppose such is the nature of life. Good news is that things have settled down a bit, so I can get back to doing what I love: art (as if there was a doubt).
So to kick off my return, I took a friend of mine up on a pallet challenge she was running. You can see the six colors that made the base of the challenge on the right, though I did add the two on the left only because I wasn’t quite feeling the extreme skin color options I’d have to pick. Anyway, part of the challenge was a list of words that were randomized for everyone who did the challenge, and mine were: fairy, archer, long legs, feudal Japan, pitchfork, and neon hair. Obviously, this decided a lot of the character for me, but I did have fun trying to incorporate so many restrictions into one image. I ended up using the ‘pitchfork’ for the arrow tip, in case you’re looking for it. All in all, not a bad exercise.
Unfortunately, current circumstances don’t quite make it practical to create something new every day, (though I might still try) but I will be back to posting regularly, a minimum of once or twice a week until things quiet down a little more still. It is good to be back, and I know you’ll be seeing more of me.
Photography is a struggle.
The maximum number of accounts that can be followed daily on Tumblr is 200. Today I unfollowed 25. I am watching for artists with a sense of direction who create a recognizable body of work. My photography is pretty random. There is still so much to learn. I need more practice.
