Was playing a get-to-know-you game on zoom with a bunch of participants in my work project. Question was what’s the first instrument you learnt to play, and to sketch it. For most of us in SG (other than the more privileged ones who were sent to piano or violin private lessons), it was this, the recorder, as part of our primary school music intro class. (That was in the ‘70s of course… today they prolly have a much wider range of things to choose from).
