Asking some writers/artists I follow:

Is there anything in your fic/comic that you as the author know about, but won't end up in the actual story?

Hmmmm... I have a lot of little moments from the Grown Apart cast's individual upbringings that are kinda floating around in my head, but I have no idea yet if they'll make it into the comics. So, I'm not sure if those count. There are a few little canon details that I haven't figured out how to include in the comics just yet, though. Such as:

Donnie speaking in a posh English accent...but only some of the time - mostly when he's not with his family or if he's trying to impress someone. Reason being: Donnie doesn't naturally talk like Big Mama (though he may have adopted a tinge of her inflection with certain words or vowels), it's mostly something he puts on intentionally to sound more...closely related to her? It's become a habit, and he doesn't always realize when he's doing it anymore, unless the others point it out. But it disappears the moment he gets too worked-up/excited about something.

Because Mikey spent so much time looking for ways to occupy himself while Leo was off causing mischief with his friends, he has a wide range of obscure talents & skills, many of which I'll probably never end up showing in canon because they're not particularly relevant to the plot. For example: - Guitar playing - Card stacking - Cup stacking - Solving a rubix cube in under 3 minutes - Painting/writing with his toes - Ballet (beginner level, but he's working on it) - Making music with water glasses - Yo-yo tricks - Acrobatics - Silk flying - The ancient art of the Japanese tea ceremony - Crochet - Playing Chopsticks on his shell (with chopsticks)

That's all I've got off the top of my head right now. Unless you're referring to things like "ideas that were originally going to be part of the canon, but got scrapped somewhere along the way." There's a LOT of those, lol. Some of which I might still end up sharing at some point, because I illustrated a few of them early on when I was doing story beats, and I like the illustrations despite them not being accurate anymore.

Others, I don't necessarily want to expose just yet, because they might still end up getting used somewhere? Maybe in this story or maybe in a different one entirely, who knows. I like to keep "scrapped" ideas in my back pocket just in case I decide to come back to them later down the line.

can I ask about different shades of purple? I was wondering if you had any details on what colors the Donnie clones are.

Ah, so- As the title implies, all of the clones do have a different shade of purple. (However, since there's like...somewhere around 30 clones, I've had to cheat and dip a little into the pink/red and indigo pool for some, lol).

I can't give you specific shades for specific clones just yet, because I'm still working that out, but I can tell you a bit about my thought process when it comes to picking them*:

Strong or intense personality traits are represented by vibrant/highly saturated colors. Whereas more subdued personality traits are represented by softer, muted tones.

If a trait leans more towards the "passion" side of the spectrum, it's usually going to be represented by a hue with more red in it. If it's closer to "melancholy" or "apathy," it'll likely have a bluer hue.

And obviously, in both cases, neutral is somewhere in the middle.

(Fun fact: canon Donnie's, AKA "Donnie Prime's", color is a neutral purple, often called "True Purple.")

To help put this into perspective a little bit, here are some off-the-top-of-my-head examples: - Anxious Donnie's color is a deep, but saturated, almost-blue indigo. - Romantic Donnie's shade is vibrant and very close to red/magenta. - "Bad Emotions" Donnie is also close to blue, but it's a more desaturated hue than Anxious Donnie's - almost grey. - And Intellectual Donnie's is just a slightly less saturated neutral purple than Donnie Prime's. It's probably the closest to Donnie's canon shade out of all of the clones.

The darkness of the hue is relevant, too - it usually has to do with positive vs negative moods. But since not all of the clones are emotion-based, this one isn't always consistent and can change depending on other factors.

*Ninja Donnie is the exception to these rules - his mask is a bright red to represent the Hamato clan ninja, not because of any of the above qualifiers.

#This little system helps me sort out the spectrum in my brain a bit more easily lol.#It's not exactly foolproof tho - so there are going to be a few odd cases. Hey guys, some quick notes:

The plot is on pause today, since I need to focus on completing my submissions for the main bracket (and maybe take the opportunity to answer some asks that have been piling up). Any on-going interactions will be saved in drafts and responded to tomorrow or a little later.

Tiny update: I have drafted up a list of Donnies for the cloning concept - the ones that I either had an idea for already or that came to mind while I was writing out the others - and have reached a grand total of 30 Donnies.

So far. I think I'll stop there, just to keep it easy on myself, but feel free to continue making up others that are not listed if you want. LOL.

Hoping to get a full line-up of them all posted sometime this month, if I have the time between other projects. :>
