#ArtistPicks : Here's our S01E02 of Artist Picks, a DIY Spotify Playlist Exchange Series for #ArtistSupportingArtists, featuring indie-rock band @meewakching from Imphal, Manipur. The provenance of the noisemaker quintet, Meewakching, is a quiet place called Kongba in Imphal East. They were incubated to prominence from a certain bedroom with DIY wizardry whilst wielding borrowed gears. The band has released an EP and several singles in the past few years garnering fan-favorites with singles such as "Taibangduna Changlaktringei Manglanshida Ngaihak Leisi" and "Nang gi Eshei". Their live shows are known for the electrifying energy generated from a sound band chemistry. The band takes particular pride in their suburban upbringing which they celebrate with the deliberate refusal to state-of-the-art side of things. Their way of doing things is a statement to the suburban way of life, highly reminiscent of the works from bands like Arcade Fire. @silheiba_ningombam , the frontlead, is soon appearing his final exam for a Masters degree in English literature in Manipur University. @swami_laimayum (Bassist) is pursuing a Masters course in Tourism in the same university, while @_sa_na_hal_ has appeared his final exam for B.A. History Honours at Delhi University. @sorokhaibamronald studied B.Sc MLT at SIMS. @____dingku___ (Guitarist) has finished formal schooling, and currently concentrating in Manipuri literature. The band members are all college students who run errands for homes. All of them are very interested in fine arts and films too.
