When Art Linkletter guested on the show, he came to me after we wrapped and said someone had stolen his wallet from his dressing room. I assured him that I could vouch for each and every one of our people, but he was adamant. He remembered leaving the wallet on the dressing table, it being there when he went on stage for the last time, and it being missing when he returned to the room. He wanted the wallet—and the culprit—found. Bill Magginetti and I knew the wallet had not been stolen. The two of us spent virtually the entire night inside of huge dumpsters sorting studio garbage and trash. But no wallet was found. At 8am I called Linkletter at home. "I'm sorry", I said, "but we've looked everywhere. The wallet isn't here." "Yeah," he said. "I know. I found it on my dresser when I got home." And he hung up. —Howard Rafiel, 'Where the Hell is Desilu?' #lucilleball #thelucyshow #artlinkletter #lostandfound #whatajerk #desilu #dumpsterdive https://www.instagram.com/p/B1C1x5qHBHO/?igshid=lgl5j92j5cjx
