how I spent my first paycheck at my new job.

I keep forgetting about tiktok and reels on IG. My brain cant focus on more than one thing at a time.

My dog decided she isn't feeling well and has kept me up all night and its quite possible its my fault. I got her a new dog bone to keep her occupied thinking she'd nibble on it here and there or maybe not at all because she's picky. This thing was pretty large. I can't find it now and I'm wondering if it wasn't a long lasting chew bone afterall and maybe she ate the whole thing and has made herself sick.

so now I'm just going to be anxiously watching her. She keeps licking her lips like she's nauseous but I havent seen any actual emesis. Lord knows she also asked for breakfast this morning. Girl. slow down, mommies worried.

I got very little sleep and now my neck is super stiff. Because cartoons were true about what its like getting older. My plans were for today to try and do some yard work because my poor dog keeps stepping on those gnarly stickers outside. Natures doom legos.

A few weeks ago, @giotto_spain kindly offered some art supplies to try out. To make this test, I used @industriamaimeri professional-grade watercolors, Saunders Waterford @st_cuthberts_mill cold pressed paper, a set of @princetonbrush brushes, and graphite pencils from @lyra_feelcreative for the little sketch. I have already used Saunders Waterford paper and I really liked it, but I hadn't tried the rest of the materials. I'm really happy with them and I'll be posting a extense review on my next to Youtube Vlog, stay tuned! Thank you again for sending these supplies, @giotto_spain ! Swatching my early Christmas gift to myself 😁 I felt that it was time to move on from my pandemic Himi gouache set to Holbein Artists' Gouache. I got a 12 color set, but also picked up a handful of tubes from their Irodori line. They are all highly pigmented and extremely opaque, so my heart is happy. I am looking forward to playing more with these yummy colors! These are my color Mixing Chart.

Color Theory is one of the most underrated subject in art. When I got my first paint, I just dived into mimicking the pictures I saw online or following tutorials without learning color theory.

I just mixed color by feel, and sometimes I hit the jackpot, sometimes I just wing it with whatever color I get. Most often than not, I over mix and that leads to waste of paint and pigment.

Now that I've learned and focused more on every swatch and every color combination that I have (note: every mixing chart is composed of different brand of watercolor), it is easier for me to determine which color combination should I make to get my desired shade.

@staedtlerph has been in the industry for a very long time, in fact my technical pens & mechanical pencils during college were Staedlers. All along I have associated the brand with pens but I'm surprised that they carry some paints now! . They sent me these products for me to try. They have watercolor pencils, watercolor paints & acrylic paints. These are under their Design Journey line. . I did some swatches of the colors that they have per set so you may swipe thru my posts. You will see that the colors are fine. Some colors are week but some colors are strong in terms of pigmentation. I had fun trying them 🥰 . I like that the watercolor pencils can really be diluted with water, some brands they don't so it's kinda hard to make it work for me but not this one. The watercolors are good, I would consider this as a studio line like maybe in between student & artist grade same goes with their acrylics. The finish of their acrylic is glossy so if you want matte you just add a matte medium. .
