apologies for how long its taking me to get chapter 4 up, I’m simply stuck on figuring out how to write Dirk magically appearing beside Todd from Dirk’s perspective. Thank you for your patience

i had a brief revelation where i was thinking about how doc brown with his wife and kids eventually move back to hill valley 1986 or sometime like that. i don't know how old the kids were but i assume it was before the age of ten. and while i'm convinced they were pretty smart for children their age, they still were children after all - when they were about to go back to the future (pun intended) i think it boiled down to "hey, kids, we're going to move" and they just accepted it. it's not like they could do anything about it, anyways. but a couple of years later realisation just... hits them - how they abandoned all their friends from 19th century and all these kids are long since dead and their friends in 1980's are basically those kids' great-grandchildren. they'll never talk to their classmates from that tiny little school in the old west countryside ever again.
