Art of Appreciation 12: The Smallest
The hard-working, sweaty and dirty man, the smiling kid at window of the train, the cooking old lady surrounded by her cats, the swaying trees on a breezy afternoon, the vast and the almost endless blue sky; all of those things are the simplest yet the smallest things to be noticed in our life. They’re the tiniest of the smallest and the unnoticed of the noticeable. They are the ones that are needed to be look forward and the things to be cared to. They’re life’s hidden treasures and the moment’s greatest pleasures.
It’s life itself, living and showing its own existence.
Look everywhere and notice the simplest things. How does water boil? When do the stars bloom at night? Why do birds sing at the morning? Questions that are never asked to one’s self, questions that are never pondered because we’re too busy on thinking about the larger things. Smell the roses, taste the air, look at the music and the harmony of people. When was the last time you appreciated a simple concern and compliment?
Life itself gives a chance to everyone to be a being, to be a part of the system not just a watcher of everything else. We must be one with the smallest, be with them and appreciate them. Because without them, the larger things you’re thinking about will never be larger and the same.
