BAD BUNNY 🐇 In the wake of a year that saw Bad Bunny start to redefine expectations for Latino pop stars and link with hip-hop giants, the trap en español poster boy certainly has his work cut out for him. As is the case with any star who is riding high on the success of a breakout single, fans are eager to see how El Conejo Malo will follow up on “Krippy Kush,” which garnered remixes with Nicki Minaj, 21 Savage, and even Travis Scott. Late last night on Instagram, Benito Ocasio posted a one-minute teaser of an untitled track featuring an upcoming collab with none other than rap king Future. EST-HER ⛪️ Pushing a budding career as a ballet dancer to the side, Toronto native Est-Her took considerable time to make sure his music lived up to his own expectations. "I've been sitting on some of these tracks for a year now," he explained. "My first track 'Sympathy' was pretty aggressive, so I thought I'd take a deep breath with 'Last Minute Wedding,' which I wrote with a crazy talented young producer from France called Poter Elvinger. I have about three albums-worth of music I'm sitting on at the moment, and my laptop is dying. I think it's time." The self-directed video for ”Last Minute Wedding”, which is his first ever, is just as dramatic and beautifully put together as the song itself, with Est-Her himself channeling a Romeo + Juliet-era Leonardo DiCaprio vibe. He's still independent and without a label, but we don't expect things to remain that way for long. SONDER 🔮 Singer Brent Faiyaz, and producers Atu and Dpat began quietly releasing music as Sonder on SoundCloud last summer. In October, the trio finally delivered a proper introduction to their new group with the release of their first single "Too Fast." In January, Sonder followed up their debut single with the release of their full Into EP. In the months since their EP's release, Sonder have performed for sold-out crowds in Los Angeles and Brooklyn—allowing their momentum to continue at a steady and strong pace. Today, the R&B trio finally offers up their first official music video for their lead single "Too Fast." The visuals directed by Noah Lee show a surreal depiction of the circle of life set in the middle of vast farmlands, with Faiyaz centered as the protagonist. Rather than wearing his heart on his sleeve, as the saying goes, the video shows a young Faiyaz literally holding his beating heart within his hands as the lyrics tell a story of heartbreak.
