" Snowflake of annoyance". 16x20. $400 This is my first attempt at simetry in my paintings. I could not bring my self to do perfect simetry. Every time I tried it produced feelings of annoyance which eventually worked them selves out in this end result . # 어떤 비겁한 변명 결혼한 적도 없고 아이를 낳은 적도 없지만. 어느새 이런 나라를 방치해버린 기성세대가 되어버렸다. 그래서 실은, 세월호를 추모하는 배지나 액세서리를 달고 다닐 자격조차 내게는 없다고 생각했다. 기억하지 않으려 해도 잊을 수 없고, 나타내지 않으려 해도 드러나는 분노였기에 더더욱. 그러나 가난한 예술가를 조금이나마 도울 수 있는 프로젝트라면. 어쩌면 나도 그 명분을 빌려 표현할 수 있겠다 싶었다. 역시 예술은 위대하다. 어쩔 수 없이 나에게는 예술이 가장 큰 이유다. 실은 이 무명의 예술가보다 내가 더 가난하고 힘든 소시민일 수도 있겠지만. 이렇게나마 부채의식을 조금이라도 없애고 싶은, 아주 비겁한 마음. # What a Cowardly Excuse I never got married, and never had a baby. But with advancing years, I have become one of the older generation that has just left such a country. So, in fact, I've thought I did not even have the right to wear a badge or accessories to mourn 'Sewol ferry disaster'. Even if I try to forget it and try to become silent about my anger... but I can not do that. But for a project that can help a poor artist a little bit, maybe I could borrow that justification. Art is great, no less. For me, art is always the biggest reason. Actually, I might be a poorer and harder minority than this unknown artist.
