Chapter One - Rumors Start!
-
"Are you guys talking about Professor Ratio's husband?"
Aventurine stilled.
"Oh my aeons, yeah— do you think he'll come around today? I've only ever seen pictures of him on the blog, and their always so blurry..!"
So.. he was married? No, no, it must just be a rumor. The good doctor would have told him, and Aventurine would have stopped flirting. Right? He was to self righteous to not.
"You guys haven't seen him?? Oh your missing out— hes so pretty, I heard he came around today!! Their both so good looking its no wonder they got together!"
So, the mystery husband was here today? That caught Aventurine's intrigue— he hadn't seen anyone on the guest roster other then him.
"Oh my gods, for real?? What's he like?"
"Hes got super pretty blonde hair-"
Aventurine absentmindedly went to the little shock of hair that pushed itself over his shoulder.
"-and hes always wearing this super expensive jewelry. I wonder who he is— or what he does, or if Professor Ratio gets paid enough for those kind of stones— oh, and I've heard his eyes are super dazzling upclose, colored like the break of dawn! I haven't seen them myself, I've only ever seen his back when he was going into Professor's classroom. I got out as quickly as I could— didn't want to get caught."
Slowly, Aventurine's hand drifted up to his earring, before gracing under his eye. Wait a second…
"Oh my, he sounds so pretty.. oh my god, wait, I saw a blond person earlier, they were coming down the hallway- do you think that was him?!"
On a whim, the Stoneheart decided to step out of his hiding spot, coming around the statue to walk by the group. They all immediately shut up, watching him walk by— for an added bonus, he decided to look at them and softly wave before continuing down the hall to where Ratio's classroom was.
"Oh- oh my god, that was him, wasn't?!"
"Yeah, yeah that had to be him— The blond hair, the eyes-!! Thats him, thats Professor Ratio's husband!!"

Chapter 2 - Let The Games Begin
-
"Y'know, doctor, we could just go along with it. Think about it, its an easy excuse! Why'd you leave your classroom for so long? Oh, you were on vacation with your husband!! Where's your homework you left behind? Oh, your husband is bringing it!" Aventurine seemed far to amused for Ratio's liking— he wasn't typically the type to get so involved in meaningless gossip himself, though he did partake in it from time to time. Just not typically the one spreading or spurring on said rumor.
"Absolutely not. There are perfectly good reasons for such actions, and this lie you've spun is surely to backfire on us horribly." Dr. Ratio groaned, dragging his hand down his face. "I should hardly be surprised you went along with this, this is just the right amount of ridiculous for you.."
"You know me so well. And besides, doc, with my luck? Why would we ever be caught in a lie? C'mon, you might find some benefit to it~" Aventurine sung as he slipped off the desk, having finished off the meal and discarded the box, rounding about the doctor. He got up in Ratio's face as he turned around, slyly playing with the little chain resting over his chest. "As if you could ever hope to best me~"
"I'd rather not rely on something as unquantifiable as your luck again. Your schemes are hardly logical to begin with." Ratio loathed to think back on their sparse handful of missions— Aventurine was just that touch to elusive sometimes, and it drove Ratio against the wall. How could someones so blatently disregard their inherent preciousness? "I'd choose to believe they will trust their professor over you."
"Choose to believe what you want, Ratio. We both know I just can't be bothered to lose." A swift movement swung the chain up a little before it fell back against Ratio's chest, gloved hand tracing down his shirt before Aventurine pulled away with a grin. "Will I see you at home soon, dear~?"
"Get out of my office."
