Limp Paper Binding Workshop & Guided Tour of the Exhibition

Just last Saturday was the first guided tour of the exhibition. Followed by a Limp Paper Binding Workshop for 20 participants. It was very heartwarming to see that there was an overwhelming response, with 50 people on the waiting list for the workshop. It was a very fruitful workshop, with participants learning how to sew on cords, measuring up for the paper covers and learning a little about some of the basic tools they require for bookbinding. 

I enjoyed the guided tour very much. As always, I loved when I have an audience who is interested in what I do. Sharing about design bindings has always been a challenge, since it is not easy to explain specifically what it is through the written word. That is why, when it is a “Show & Tell”, it makes it easier to relate to the parts of the book, the binding structures, the inspiration and the secrets and tips that are not often shared. 

Coming up on 3rd March, I will be having an Artist Talk, where I will share even more detailed insight into the design binding, my past experience in competitions and exhibitions in fine binding and some personal mantras I have for bookbinding. Registration is required for the Artist Talk and it can be found here.  There is a guided tour after the talk, but the registration is full, but feel free to join in the tour, I will try my very best to speak as loud as I can possibly do in a library setting.
