Art Slam 2019

It’s that time of year again! ArtSlam starts June 1st and ends August 31st So now’s the time to sign up and get ready!

What is ArtSlam about? Artslam is an event that challenges artists of every skill level to pick a concept and develop it for one, two or three months. Generally speaking, if you have a character, setting or story that you would like to develop, this community encourages you to think about it every day and get some sketches down that you can later use to develop your concept more thoroughly. Think of it as an artistic NaNoWriMo, with the goal being one sketch a day.

How do I participate? Artslam started as as Livejournal community, though the changes in recent years haven’t made Livejournal as accessible. It lives on in a Dreamwidth community in the same spirit, and a discord server.

Starting off Artslam easy by trying to remember how to draw my own characters! I've spent the past while drawing a babyfaced little goblinesque loser (Lou) so I've forgotten what butchy mcbitchface here is supposed to look like

Not my main Art Slam project but I accidentally a gemsona: PORK STONE! 

Since pork stone is a popular type of jasper, I figured she’d straddle the line between quartz soldier and elite gem like agates. None of these are really in style and I kept going Ochako the more I drew her, but it was fun practice.
