Art and it's Interpretation

Today's world is surrounded by arts—lots of art whether it be classic books, fiction and non fiction, films, short stories or just a simple Renaissance art. But what makes art unique is the interpretation of it by individuals. I remember vividly when I was in the fifth semester of my bachelor's we had a whole unit upon art and its interpretation. That class was my favorite not because it talked about art but because it showed how differently we took it in— and this not only about my opinions and interpretation but about other's too. Few days ago, I saw a reel where there was this girl who talked about how Rab Ne Banadi Jodi is not as romantic as it seems. Because the ML evil eyed the FL. That is stuck with me since then. That's why today I am talking about art and their interpretation. Have you ever consumed something about any art which different from others? And how do you think it effects you? I would love to know about it and discuss it with you all. See you all next time.

Today's Art Apart Read-Aloud: What! Cried Granny

Find a comfy seat and listen to Ms. King read What! Cried Granny by Kate Lum.

Patrick is having his first sleep-over at his grandmother’s house. It’s almost bedtime, but there’s a problem-Patrick doesn’t have a bed at Granny’s. So Granny goes out to her yard, chops down some trees, and makes a comfy bed for Patrick. Now he can go to sleep. Right? Not yet. He doesn’t have a pillow! So Granny dashes to the henhouse, collects some feathers, and sews a fluffy pillow for Patrick. Now he can go to sleep. Right? Not yet. A few other things are still missing . . . . If Patrick is lucky, this could go on all night!

Today's Art Apart Read-Aloud: Leonardo, the Terrible Monster by Mo Willems

Leonardo is a terrible monster—terrible at being a monster, that is. Leonardo can’t seem to scare the tuna salad out of anyone . . . until he meets Sam, the most scaredy-cat kid in the whole world.

Arthur Ashe 2nd Grade, ELA & Drama Mr. Martin / Ms. Banks

Ms. Banks class has been reading “Mirette on the High Wire”  

For guided practice, Mr. Martin brings up 4 Students. One plays Mirette on the High Wire and the other three are “Obstacles”. As “Mirette” walks the imaginary highwire each “Obstacle” jumps up to yell out in Gibberish to scare Mirette Away. Mirette swings in a circle to kill the “OBSTACLE”, Obstacle dies an epic death and Mirette moves on to the next. Once Mirette has epically taken down all of the “Obstacles” everyone freezes in tableau. TA asks the audience what the think each Obstacle said. Options: Look Down! Quit Now! You Can’t! Independent Practice: Students are put into groups to create their own version of “Mirette vs The Obstacle” Each Obstacle Has to Say in Gibberish: Look Down! Quit Now! You Can’t!
