Question!!! So in 2015 I created these posable demon sculptures as part of a bigger piece: an automaton called Demon Mutiny. When bringing it to shows (before it sold) people would ask me if I had individual demons for sale. Which I had no interest in making at the time. But times have changed... So my question for you guys is: should I make single demon sculptures and if so, how much should I charge? They are made with animal bones and dental drills with genuine ruby eyes. Pricing art has been an extremely difficult task lately. I feel like maybe the old art rules about keeping your prices going up or comparable to things sold in galleries might not be the best strategy during this pandemic. But at the same time I’m seeing art for sale by my colleagues that are much more than would I would be for things in the same realm and it makes me worried that if I lower my prices would that either make their stuff seem too expensive or my stuff cheap? If I keep my prices at that level would no one be able to afford it?
