“You know Heph… I'm surprised you aren’t a demi god like I, your body must have been crafted by the gods.” Alexander whispered softly into his companion’s ear as he brushed his smooth fingers through his silky, bronze locks with a gently placed smile. In response, Hephaestion chuckled carefree as he soaked in the praise with a serene light heartedness before muttering his utmost thoughts with a flirtatious tone, “Or maybe the gods crafted me to fit you Achilles,”
Alexander laid there in a perfect silence as he turned his head towards Hephaestion whose head was carefully cuddled onto his chest. He let out a sigh staring up to the vivid blue sky that filled with white, fluffy clouds surrounding the sulphur yellow sun; the pure setting adding to their shared tranquillity and contentment.
They shared a long, yearned for kiss as their lips exchanged touch and made their bodies relax to the purity and innocence of their affection for each other, “Σ Αγαπώ” Hephaestion spoke barely whispering as his eyes darted from Alexander’s lips to piercing sapphire eyes; they slowly closed until they opened again with a small twinkle in his eye as his cheeks stretched, “I know Heph, you’re as dear to me as the need to drink and eat, a day without you is a dark day full of despair and misery - I love you too.”

I want someone who wants to know me. Come crawl into my bones, meet my soul, nurture it as I nurture yours. I want our cups overflowing
I want her but not just physically, I want her heart in the way it warms my soul.
I want you to crawl into my bones. Feel your warmth in my soul. To feel you. The weight of who you are and who I am unwind and intertwine. The very essence of you dancing with mine. No masquerade. Bare and naked. Blemish and scar on display. Everything that you are, held with all of me. To feel the fire of your heart warm the home in me. The ache I feel disappears upon the touch of your fingertips. To give myself to you in a way I never have before. Your lips on mine as we dance to the passion of our souls mixing. Your teeth on my neck as mine on yours. I want to run my fingertips along your every blemish. Kiss you undone. Show you just how perfect you are. I ache in your absence. Come back to me untie me and destroy every wall I've built, just as I do to yours. I want to see you in your awe. Whole because you always have been. Grant me the privilege to see it all. Your name is like a prayer up on my lips. I'm on my knees, worshipping every part of your soul. I want to devour you, your blood like a drug. I don't care if I'm not sane, so long as I am yours and you are mine. I will be like a dog and lay at your feet. All you need is to look at me. For I will always be yours. Our souls forever intertwined.
I find it quite devastating to not be good enough because of something you cannot control about yourself and I think many of us share a solidarity in that, all different sides of the same coin and how heartbreaking it truly is to feel this way. I find that's why it's so important to walk in love and understanding because there's so much about the vastness of the human experience that we can't quite define it to an exactness and that academics can only go so far until it begins to write off the very intersections that make us human. Maybe I'm radical for these views but if seeking to understand the uniqueness of ones personhood is radical then so be it. I would rather be hated by the world for my love than to leave someone feeling unworthy of their humanity.
I think in this day of hyper independence and the internet it's important that we remember if we don't show basic interest or care towards people. If we don't invest intentionally in them then we are subconsciously telling them that they are not important to us. If you want long lasting friendships, relationships, community you have to be intentional. You have to do the uncomfortable thing, you gotta go out of your own way and do the scary thing instead of just thinking about people in your head. People can't read your mind, you gotta talk to them, share your feelings. Ask people how there day was, invite people out or over. Spend time with each other. Show people you want them in your life because when people don't feel wanted they can and will walk away. We make up all these bogus rules about texting and when to hangout or what to talk about instead of learning to just let ourselves live. We forget that human connections need watering like a plant does. And we forget that some people are different than others and some may need to be watered more or less than others. And that's not a bad thing, it's normal to be different but we have to stop assuming we know the rule book of care for everyone and we have to stop assuming that our needs are the exact same as everyone else's. Sometimes I don't want to text that one friend back the same day but I do because I know she struggles with anxiety. Sometimes I want to talk to another friend alot because I enjoy our conversations but I tone it down because I know they need space more often... My point with this is that if you want thriving connections you have to learn to be a versatile gardener. It's not good to keep only people who are exactly like you around you 24/7 you gotta have people different than you around because they challenge you to learn and grow. People are so vastly unique and when we refuse to have difference in our life we bubble ourselves in and train our brain to believe ourselves as the default. And we aren't. When you can't handle other people being wired differently than you then you become unknowingly harsh and unkind, quick to misinterpret something and make it an attack on your character, misunderstandings that could have been prevented by listening to understand instead of waiting to defend yourself. I've gotten good at learning when people haven't done the internal work and when people need to diversify the people they spend time with... It's in the small signs, the subtle reactivity, defensiveness or even in the bold plowing through others feelings because they don't see how others feelings deserve care. Everyone everywhere does this in some way shape or form no one isn't guilty of it but there's a level of growth and healing you can see when you look hard enough. And trust me by no means does age mean aware or knowledgeable. Growth isn't assigned by an age number it's learned through active pursuit of the uncomfortable. Wisdom is gained through tedious inconveniences and compounded experiences. I remember some of the wisest mechanics were not the ones with 15 years of experience but the ones who still had the patience to learn. So maybe that's what the key to people is, the willingness and the patience to learn them. Because no two souls are the same so we must learn one another with great care and selflessness. When we learn to let go of control and we listen with the grace and patience of a learning student we can master the art of loving one another truly and authentically.
