Skyrim Carpets rant ahead!!!

First thing to note is that the "carpets" in some skyrim homes are based off of the lands of "elsewhere" another fictional land in the world of Tameriel. The key thing about elsewhre is Sand! It is the DESSERT!

And what is Elsewhere based off of ??? The Ancient East! Alot of lore in Skyrim is based off of real life historical facts / artifacts/ or myths. One such "lore" is CARPETS!!

Carpets in skyrim are based off of Persian carpets irl. The key thing to note is that the west and the east, despite having centuries old feuds with one another, continued to trade to this day.

Side note, the west in this case is Europe and east is, take a guess!, the eastern countries. Unfortunately, America doesn't appear for another few centuries, rip.

Well, back to carpets. Persian Carpets today are still famous in none eastern countries purely because of the "intelectual" aesthetic they bring to an individuals home. This has been a trend for a long time too! Ever since the 15th century, and possibly longer than that!

For example, if I had a hand made carpet from the east in the 1600's. It would most likely be purely non figurative designs, so floral patterns, the key thing is that none of these carpets, or other art objects like pottery, would have people in them because of one key fact. Allah!

In the Islamic faith Allah has no face, nor does any of the prophets, and back in the 15th century, and before then, it was purely an oral religioun! So, to help spread the idealogy of Islam, not only did the east start writing their holy book, known as the Qu'ran today, but they also created physical objects like carpets and pottery to trade with the west!

This brings me back to skyrim...

Eventually, the world becomes what we know it as today. Interfaith, mass communities etc. So, video games like Skyrim, begin to add real life objects, like carpets, to inform their in game lore :3

I need y'all to understand that while I was going through most of this I didn't have insurance. When I finally did have insurance I tried booking therapy appointments only for them to try charging me $250 that I didn't have because I spent $500 each on my pets cremation. I reached out to HR asking if we had a company covered therapy program and they did but they kicked their feet getting me the information. When I finally got the info and went to sign up I found out it was only during my schedule working hours so I couldn't go to therapy unless I had extra time off. I asked my boss since we were in the slow season to cut my hours so I could go to therapy because I wasn't doing well and he told me "I can't cut your hours because that wouldn't be fair to anyone else and I can't trust you to not abuse it" even though no one else on the team had just gone through the death of 3 loved ones and we were so slow I was wasting my time sweeping a floor and sitting in a chair for 5 hours a day because they refused to send us home when there was no work and they did not let us do anything else except twiddle our thumbs while they had a stick up their ass and litterly bullied me and the black guy on our team because the boss man was racist and misogynistic. It was the worst work place I've ever been at and when they denied my request for my hours to be cut for my mental health I turned in my two weeks. My mental health was more important than that job ever will be especially with the mistreatment that I and my coworker went through. Believe me we tried reporting this manager to HR and they did nothing. Bro had over 10 filings on him alone because how horribly he treats his employees

Anyways for the anon who said my crashouts on Tumblr makes me a yellow flag. Thank you for bringing my attention on this but I think it's also important to remember that people's struggles and mental health doesn't determine whether they deserve to date or not. I am not my struggles and me venting on Tumblr doesn't actually say anything about what I'm like when it comes to dating. I deserve support and care when I'm struggling not shame. I think if you lost 3 loved ones in the same time period, we're getting harassed and treated as stupid at your job, family struggles and supporting an unhoused friend who was litterly trashing your apartment and not paying a single bill while also being strung along by an avoidant in a "talking stage" you too would crash out. I was ready for a relationship 8 months ago and despite my personal hardships I would have been completely fine in a relationship. Because relationships are about supporting each other not fixing each other. Bad things in life will always happen you can't avoid it but running away at the sign of any hardship and kicking someone while they are down is disrespectful at best. I deserve support in my struggles not shamed for my safe outlet of it on Tumblr. Maybe you don't understand grief and maybe you've never been strung along and then dropped like you meant nothing but it doesn't mean you aren't capable of having a safe and healthy relationship. I would have been fine having a relationship with someone 6 months ago but now I'm not because I was hurt by someone who should have supported me and not treated me like something that gets dropped at a slight inconvenience. My mental health was very manageable until I got heartbroken amongst my grief. And maybe you don't get it and that's fine but everyone's emotional levels are different and that doesn't make how I felt any less real. Anyways now I genuinely don't want to date anyone because I can't trust people, not that I could already, I was actually extremely careful about getting involved with anyone and I still got left out on the streets if you will 🤦 anyways thank you for seeing me for my struggles and not my personhood. Sometimes things are out of people's control and dropping them because their struggles are inconvenient means that person never would have been a safe person to date anyways. I'm not looking for someone who drops people at any sign of conflict or struggle. If you can't be with me during my saddest hour you don't deserve to be with me during my happiest hour. I don't want superficial bulshit for a relationship. I want something real. Anyways, like I said thank you for sharing that I appreciate it but it did actually hit a sore spot. Genuinely I wish people would see me for who I am and not my situation.

I'm glad you are working on your insecurities and accountability! That's a very big deal. You wouldn't believe how so many people are defensive and take things as a personal attack when you try to tell them how they hurt you. Conflict should be a means to deepen connection not something to fight about. Everyone likes to shy away from conflict so easily instead of growing through it. I think oftentimes we get mean when we have insecurities because somewhere along the line someone told us that our insecurities make us unlovable or not heard. We have to remember it's good to communicate out needs and insecurities so other people can understand us better. If you feel angry or aggressive instead of immediately responding a good practice is to ask why? Doing so helps reveal areas where we still need to heal and grow. Once you've determined that you can try to communicate it so that your partner can better understand you and work with you through that conflict. I really try my best to communicate as openly as I can and I often sit with my feelings before I say something because I don't want to blow up. I grew up in a home with a lot of aggression and conflict and I really try my best not to be like my parents. I'm still growing but I wish people gave me grace to work through my issues instead of blowing up on me about it when I try to communicate it. I'm wary to communicate my insecurities even though I know they are necessary because so many past partners took me trying to inform them how their actions hurt me as an attack... which only further made me feel unlovable💔 Growth is really hard and I find often people I think that are in the same place as me aren't and there's often a maturity gap that is hard to work through. I'd hope in the future I meet someone who has just as much patience as I do to navigate conflict together, not against each other.
