omg almost forgot to ask.. 🖊 ramble about any one of ur ocs my friend

i was waiting for the perfect chance to answer this ask, when i got hit with a case of Thinking About The Character !!! and now i have !!!! so u get to hear me ramble about volkov's fucked up father/son(/daughter/pet/pest) relationship w nina

ok so like. goddd. ok. im listening to eat shit and die by harley poe and it sparked this sudden burst so u get to blame that song for this

these 2 are both pafl ocs: volkov is a scientist, and nina is a mutant. her mutation is that shes born dead but still lives, kinda !! like... if you dont take proper care of her, shes gonna decay and rot and die for real. she has little control of her body, little understanding of whats going on - though, the latter one isnt due to her mutation, its due to no one explaining anything to her!!! if volkov talked her through things, told her what things mean, etc, shed be far more aware of her surroundings than she is

volkov sooo badly wants to be the Right Man. he wants to be the husband that hes expected to be to marya, he wants to be the father hes expcted to be to nina !! he wants to fulfill the expectations that Society has set upon him. he so so badly wants to do things right. but he cant !!! both he and marya are gay, neither know it. he proposes to her after she gets pregnant, she accepts, but leaves him a few months after that bc she realises she doesnt want her kid to have him as its father. she dies in childbirth, though, and ninas a mutant !! so volkovs fucked !!!! he cant even be the right ex-husband !!!!

but he can still be a father !!! maybe not a good one, but he can take care of nina, he can take care of his awful, idiotic dissapointment of a son, and he'll be doing things right then !!! so, like. for 14 years he dedicates his entire life to taking care of nina at the facility. making sure that shes not terminated, that shes not put through any too-dangerous experiments, that no one but him can hurt her, basically.. and he thinks hes doing things right !!!! hes taking care of her !!! shed be dead without him !!! hes being a father. but she doesnt even know that hes her daddd he never tells her shit. she thinks hes just her caretaker

he tells her goodnight stories sometimes, tells her about his day, explains bits and pieces of the experiments, is gentle when he helps her get dressed !!! gets her plushies sometimes. rarely, but still, treats her like he'd treat her if she was his son - but she never will be !!! even if she was human, even if she could live like one, she wouldnt be his son !! her genders freakish and grotesque. not exactly a tgirl but close enough. so its like. aighhhh g..

like !! he would die to keep her alive for just a moment longer !!! hed break all his bones just for her to breathe some more etc etc ... and he does !!!! thats how he dies, trying to give her a good life ... but he doesnt love her, he doesnt care about his son, not even his daughter, but about what nina Means !! what she symbolises !!! he wants to be a father, and she lets him be one. he doesnt care about her happiness - as long as shes there, breathing, hes a father. so hes doing something right. if she dies, hes fucked!!! his ex gf is dead, his kid is dead, hes got a shitty job, no friends, no family, nothing!!!!! this is his last chance to take his place in society !! its his fault, for the most part, but its like aughhhh . hes so AWFULLL i need to wring him out like a wet dishrag

when nina gets set for termination, he escapes with her !!! and starts treating her like an actual good father would !!! he asks her what shed like to wear, listens to music with her, tries to get her opinion on what he feeds her !!!!! for the first time in her 14 years of life, volkov is being a good father. its so alien to her that she becomes convinced that its not volkov whos taking care of her !! someone has replaced him, something has posessed him, its Not Him. she tries to kill him, but bc of her mutation, fails !! her muscles are too weak n stuff ... but volkov sees that she wants to kill him, that she wants him dead, that these past 14 years have been for nothing, that hes nothing, hes never been a father, never will be, he fucked up !!!! and finishes the job for her . they then rot together for however long it takes for someone to find their corpses

ITS SOOO !!! HE FUCKED UPPP SO BADDD AND HE DOESNT EVEN LOVE HER !!! NO FATHER'S LOVE IN HIM !!!!!! he put her through 14 shitty years, treated her 'as they both deserved', because This Is What A Father Is Supposed To Do !!!!! aughghghggg !!!!!he doesnt knowww that you dont vivisect your kids ... he doesnt knowww ... aughhh . it all could have so easily been avoided. but it never could have been, because this is who he is !!! HE DOESNT CARE ABOUT HER !!!! he doesnt care that SHE wants him dead, or even that HE or IT wants him dead, he cares that his life as a father is over !!!! he fucked up, he didnt do the right job !!!! he cares that he cant lie to himself anymore !!!!! he let things stay the same for 14 years and then struggled to understand why everything was rusted, decaying !!!!!!! hes fuckeddd

and like, he DOES want to be a good father, he DOES want to be a good husband, a good person !!! but its like !!! its more about Appearing that way ??? as long as he does whats expected of him, hse fine , yknow ??? aughhh . voklovvvv speak to me volkov . im yapping but im joyous . hes too obsessed with what nina represents in his mind that he fails to see her as her own person, with her own thoughts and desires, until its too late !!! until she cant be convinced that hes capable of gentleness !!!!! her attempt at killing him is the first real choice she makes in her life, and its sooo fucking ... AUGHGHGHHGHHH!!!!!! I HATE THE FLOOR!!!!!!! aouwuwughhhh

1. What are your OC’s best and worst qualities? What do they think are their best and worst qualities? - i'd say it's nice she's not ashamed of her mutation! she's straightforward, can defend herself, shes also funny i think hehe.. worst qualities would include her violent nature (well. shes more violent bc of her nurture, tbh), shes a bit arrogant "im a dog and youre not so im obviously the superior one here, bitchface", and blunt, which can be sucky for some people !! i think she'd say . "my best quality is being a fucking WOLF dude!!!! im so swag. worst? uhhh not dog enough"

7. What is their biggest insecurity? - alík would NEVER admit this, but. she does feel insecure about not being able to control her mutation that much. she overcompensates a bit with the "fuck you im a dog im so swag" . on the other hand, her other biggest insecurity is just. being part human. not being full wolf. like if she was just a Wolf she wouldnt have to deal with all this shit!!!

8. What is their coping mechanism? - mm . id say. dissociation!! my boy is not in the right mind 99% of the time

9. What is their main love language? (gifts, quality time, acts of service, physical touch, words of affirmation) - physical touch and quality time, though mostly quality time! he likes to just hang out with alík, he likes to hold her hand also! maybe even. scratcha her ears, who knows... though, dr volkov is a rare case, as he is 'acts of service' . like "oh.. this scientist is so kind to me.. maybe.. if i do good on the experiments he'll be happy.." though ofc not worded like that . in hsi mind it would be "must help him. kind person. science well" or smth

buying new clothes, i think. the Textures!!! the Dysphoria!!! the Contact with Other People!!!! its hellll ..... same with trying out new foods, i think. texture hell. taste hell. i guess just 'trying new things'? i think hes had a ton of his clothes for a long time and just patches them up whenever they rip or tear

45. What’s something unimportant / frivolous that they hate passionately?

people brushing past him, bumping into him !! touching him out of nowhere (tapping on him to get his attention + stuff like that). this wouldnt be uncommon to happen, i think. hes blind in his left eye + deaf in his left ear (everytime i think about him i give him a new disability), so he could easily just Not Notice someone

desire: What's one thing your OC wants more than anything in the world? Are they open with that desire? Why or why not? What would they do to fulfill it?

nina wants more than anything to be with volkov. to have his attention, to be praised, to have him at her side. shes not open about this but she's not open about anything rlly - maybe she listens to him more than other scientists, but i imagine theres little times when volkov isnt there for an experiment. nina kills volkov to fulfill this desire! after they run away, volkov grows more and more distant nina 'figures out' that hes been posessed by the devil. and is no longer her dear scientist. so she kills him 👍to stay with him. and then she dies too! wonder how.

midnight: What keeps your OC up at night? Do they have nightmares? Fears? Anxieties? What do they do in the small hours of the morning when they should be sleeping?

splitter girl moment 🔥🔥🔥her wolfness, most likely, and thoughts of the people that she's hurt. like nina. she def has nightmares.. thats an interesting thought actually, that she wakes up more wolf-like bc of a nightmare!! shes got soo many fears shes scared of all the time ever but u know most of them already. hurting the ones she loves or hurting anybody at all etc etc etc... i thinkkk if she could she'd run around her room. bite her claws maybe? wolf stress behaviours

i think also thoughts of the scientists bc her relationship with themis like.. she doesnt know how to view them, ya know? they feed her, and they take care of her no matter how much she hurts people, and a few are even nice to her.. but theyre the ones that make her hurt people, but also, they wouldnt be doing that were she not a mutant, but she didnt choose to be a mutant! but she would have chosen to be one, so is it her fault? but they provoke her mutation! theres sooo many things for her to think about. wolf mode

a feelinggg a past mistake! nastyas hunted by the never sated desire to be loved and the past mistake of turning herself in to the facility. shed never say that she regrets it, but she has cried about it at night 👍shes also hunted by the memory of Her Parents .. i forgor how much nastya lore ive shared here but her parents neglect her which is why she turns herself in. if they cant love her the facility will 🔥🔥nastya and her guard.. its like a fucked up mix of guard down and constantly alert. shes got her guard down around all the wrong things same with constantly alert. but shes mostly got her guard down at the facility 👍they wouldnt hurt her Trust

1.What’s the lie your character says most often? i cannot answer this .. in her canon, she doesnt really ever speak. i guess itd be "i love you" to volkov but she doesnt know the meaning of those words, she doesnt know what she should mean when she says them. and in her alnst au .. well 💥💥💥lets just say you'll find out in the ája vs nina round :smiling_imp:

Who would they say ‘yes’ to if invited to do something they abhorred / strongly didn’t want to? nuh uh !!! nina's kinda rude/mean actually lol i just dont get to show this often (thats not to say that refusing to go somewhere you dont wanna is rude - i dont think it is? idkkk in my eyes its not i just think nina would mean about it) in her cannon shes just.. very out of it all the time, yea? she doesnt have a choice to be rude. and in alnst, you only see her from the pov of the audience, not from the pov of somebody her age. shes gonna act nice to you bc (nina vs ája spoilers)

56. If they’re scared, who do they want comfort from? Does this answer change depending on the type of fear? you knowww she wants comfort from a canine 💥💥i wonder if the facility would give her a therapy dog or smth? probably not lol but maybe for one day to see her reaction to a beast .. she doesnt have many people she could want comfort from .. but she'd want it from nina.. she wouldn't say it, wouldn't request it, but she would!! and generally anybody that could give it to her .. i think .. if its like. mm. i think the answer changes to kozlova sometimes, like if she's scared of something that kozlova could stop (like, scared of hurting somebody - wants kozlova there to restrain her - but thats not really comfort .. not in the way that it should be)

nastya

buneary is her starter pokemon. she gets it as a little kid as a gift from her parents. shes had it for years and it still hasnt evolved because it Hates her. it does NOT like her. nastya tries her darndest to make it evolve, to make it love her, to feel anything but hate in its terrible heart, but to no avail. it hates her. she doesn't battle with it.

delcatty just shows up one day, like a regular cat would. though delcattys arent big battle pokemon? from what i understand? this one is a big ol fighter and demands that nastya battles with it

she's got hattrem because it fits her. pokemon HATE her! she wont stop feeling big emotions!!!! her hattrem does not like her ❤️

her parents got her a kirlia for her birthday bc she was soo upset about not winning any fights ever, and because she likes fairy types a lot:) she gets so excited that she evolves it not even two weeks later and Um. uh oh! fairy type GONE! plus gallade didnt learn some cool moves as kirlia, so its like ... idk 💔nastya FAIL

as mentioned, nastya likes fairy pokemon a bunch!! shes a big fan.. she just.. never gets any. she's super jealous of trainers that have fairy pokemon.

she SUCKS at battling

she Does care about her pokemon!!! she loves them. even if theyre not fairy types, she loves them. she just sucks.

her story arc would end with her fixing her friendship with buneary. she'd go into battle with it and itd feel sooo much love for her for being accepted that itd evolve in battle :)

ájas starter pokemon is the mabostiff. its a family pokemon, he got it as a kid:) she loves it and it loves her and its awesome

i think togetic would be her next pokemon .. bc "They say that it will appear before kindhearted, caring people and shower them with happiness." "It grows dispirited if it is not with kind people. It can float in midair without moving its wings." and i think that fits ája since shes so niceys:) you know??

bewear fits her. its BIG!!! it LOVES OYU!!! it will CRUSH YOU TO DEATH WITH ITS HUGS!!!! do i need to say more. if you get alík, you get this

i don't think ája is like, a gym leader or something.. i like to think she'd work at some kind of pokemon shelter? like kozlovas some kind of pokemon scientist, takes care of pokemon, and ájas her assistant.. kinda like a pkemon ranger but more science-y... !! she helps pokemon out and stuff:) i do think that if a kid challenged her to battle that shed battle. she Has to. what is she, mean?? no!! ehr togetic would leave!!

that 'pokemon shelter' or whatever it ends up being is where woof gets yamper and zweilous!! yamper might be some kinda helper-out pokemon? idk i think its silly:) she hangs out with it and finds it silly so she adopts it or smth... with zweilous, i think its just a pokemon kozlova studies that ája likes.

put zweilous there bc its got two heads that hate each other like alíks got a wolf and human in him that hate each other

venonat is her starter pokemon, maybe she gets it from professor oak idk ‼️‼️‼️i dont think ninas a Big Fighter, either - only nastya and kozlov (sorta) are tbh. venonats ourpleee ! what more do you want !! i think she'd just find it cute .. thats why its hers

lampent and drifloon just fit her idk what to tell you. nina has ten thuosand diseases shes bound to get a lampent, and drifloons like... shes outside one day and sees it and is like Oh wow a balloon:) and takes it home n well shes had it ever since.

tjeres not much i can say about nina really. shes a tough nut to crack. i think her parents would be .. Not Happy about her having a lampent but also ohh nina loves it so much. so much love in her heart.

maybe she visits ája sometimes .. ohh what if she has a pokefriend there, like ája has zweilous .. ohh..

i think kozlov deserves a koraidon or miraidon cyclizar sweep!!!! and i think both he and gabriela would have eevolutions :) as a treat.. as their starters..

idk about marya and volkov ... fun fact about volkov is that hes not abusive in this au lol pokemon saved him!! yippee yay !! hes just kind of a shitty guy. maryas happy n all ... i do like the idea of her as a librarian - maybe a writer in this au!

kozlovs like... hes an explorer !! i think he and gabriela had their own adventure exploring the world when they were young - oh! i had the idea of gabriela wanting to be the very best fighter ever but then discovering that pokemon fascinate her, and she'd much rather just study them...

kozlovs not much of a battler either but he wanted to go with gabriela for the adventure ❤️this carries on into his adulthood when hes just hanging out with pokemon chilling !!! hes jsut having a chill time .. brings kozlova pokemon maybe if thats humane idk !!!! i dont know!!!!!!

1.What motivates your character? i thinkkk . in simple terms. the possibility of a better future. in the facility she doesnt really, like... its not really her choice to continue on, is it? she lashes out at the scientists when it gets too much out of fear, out of a sense of self preservation. when she gets out she keeps going motivated by new possibilities, i guess!!! when she gets friendly w the gang they motivate her:) to get better control of her wolfness (umm um to varying degrees of success. like owouldnt it be fucked up if she ate one of them Who said that ❓) and to live on healthy and stay swagging 💥💥to enjoy this awesome time as much as possible. a bunch of things i guess.

but in Actual simple terms id say. in facility, the possibility of a better future, that this shitty time will one day end. after escaping joy for the unknown. after meeting the gang fun times and love

5. Is your character more of a family or friends person? oh nastya is definetely a friends person. her parents are neglectful and dont care for her in the way that they should - they dont want her to get caught and sent to the facility, they keep a head over her shoulders, feed her, they dont beat or yell at her - which are all things that a parent should do !! like. thats just basic stuff. im not congratulating them on this. theyre doing the bare minimum. theyre neglectful emotionally and it messes nastya up 💥💥💥they dont ever really talk to her about her mutation. they dont really know the extent of her mutation and they odnt want to know.

she doesnt have many friends ever really.. on account of being a bully in a really lame way. she sucks. but !! teehee .. in an au !! she meets my friends ocs (zhenya and dasha and roma @/tarot-the-silly) and she does kinda care for them, in her own way !! she meets zhenya at the facility and i loeve their dynamic theyre just silly. she, as you may recall, dates dasha in a normal way and her dynamic with roma is uhmmm to be discussed. they hang out via dasha probs. she doesnt really have any other friends ever. its sad! shes a loser but she still deserves love. SHE ALSO HAS A CAT!!!

a calico named mishka:) if nastya had to choose between her parents, dasha roma zhenya, and mishka, she'd choose mishka - but if kitty wasnt there shed choose her friends by a mile lol

What, if anything, sticks out about their appearance? her sickly swag 💥💥💥 shes got that pale complexion those baby blue eyes that hair that falls out. the victorian sleeping gowns the facility gives her bc she looks cool in them. she looks like a ghost 💥💥shes got veins more visible too but ive never rly gotten a chance to draw them ... the alíkkkk
