Missy, do you lord the two kisses you got out of twelve (and were actually shown on tv) over the others?

About the academy names, I see them more as placeholder names really; something everyone else used to refer to them until they picked their own names. So now that they have their own names, there’s no reason to use the old names, so I think they’re deadnames in that way if you get what I mean

It really depend on interpretation of the missing puzzle pieces.

I personally feel like they gave themselves the title out of whim and I never considered the usage of their old names as anything more than an annoyance because “that’s the name I used as a kid, I’m a grown-up now”

But if one wants to talk about dead names and explore the concept I admit it can work pretty well

My controversial opinion is that series 1,2 and 3 aren’t as good as people say they are and that people tend to look back at them out of very rose-tinted glasses (pun fully intended). Personally I think it’s because either a) a lot of people were much younger when it came out and they view it with nostalgia, or b) back then is when BBC was advertising DW a lot, but iirc they kinda stopped advertising after season 4, so the people who just watched casually didn’t really continue on into (cont.)

Series 5 and on, which is why I see a lot of “DT was best Doctor, Show got bad after series 4.” In no way am I saying that pre 2010 Who was bad, I just think it’s not as great as everyone makes it out to be. Though Series 4 deserves the love, and we really shouldn’t celebrate HM/FOB

Series 1 to 3 were settling down on what became modern who.

They are very varied and experimental and sometimes I think all over the place. One thing I think changed drastically between RTD and Moffat was the focus.

RTD told stories, Moffat wrote about the Doctor. Which is fine, but I think it leads to the consistency of the actual plot to lose some weight.

But yeah, I have to agree on this one, 1 to 3 are OVERrated at best. Some episode of S2 are just...bad...
