Everything makes sense in Context and Hindsight

Okay so, I did a salty review of a Winx episode several weeks? a couple of months? ago (Diaspro and the Unicorn) but what I didn’t know, because I couldn’t get a hold of the episodes properly and because nobody told me: What I watched was a supercut of several episodes compiling the entirety of Diaspro’s Season 8 appearance.

I’ve now managed to get my hands on actual Season 8, so I’ve been watching the relevant episodes to see if I could figure out what was going on and I realised I had missed something very important.

The way I saw the meeting going the first time:

Aryo: Gasp! People! RAGE!!!! Winx: *show up and roofie a unicorn* Aryo: okay, I’m chill now... oh hey a new friend! -* because the writers need Diaspro to GTFO the story line and they’re done with minor inconvenience on the way to horn tower *-

How the scene went on the rewatch now that I’ve come around to the idea of Aryo+Diaspro bonding and have more context:

Aryo: Intruders? Like the betrayers!? … oh hey, this fairy... we vibe, I like this bitchy fairy... who’s this jerk? Don’t yell at my new fairy! *attacks Sky for berating Diaspro* Bring her back! *chases Sky who’s carrying Diaspro off, chases Sky to make him stay gone* Winx: *show up and roofie a unicorn* Aryo: OMFG it’s the sparkle brigade... very pretty... okay fine, I won’t kill this fool... Bloom: *tries to friend Aryo* Aryo: Lady! did you not just hear tiny-star-unicorn say I don’t like people?! Back off! Diaspro: *arrives to see Bloom overbearing on someone and reacts without thinking because her “I think I’ll cause problems” instincts kick in* Hey, so Sky and I have spent the last several days together, but I’d like to leave now. Aryo: Yes! New Angry Friend! Cause untold grief to the lady who does not respect my personal space! You will love me New Angry Fairy Friend! Diaspro: Uh no. … actually yeah, you know what? I dislike you far less than I dislike these people, lets blow this popsicle stand. (but first, one last chance to cause problems!) ~Bye Sky!~

On the rewatch I noticed that Aryo had at no point been targeting Diaspro, even when he took the flying leap and landed where the Eraklyon duo had been, Aryo landed more specifically where Sky had been, and given that he ended up Bonding with Diaspro (I refuse to believe any of the Winx would use such a word as Shrew to describe another woman, no matter how much they didn’t like them) it would make sense if Aryo had been specifically attacking Sky rather than the two of them... or I’m giving the writers too much credit because wtf? did Stella’s unicorn choose her or not? why is it being such an ass and since when does she hate horses? of any kind? Also isn’t Flora the one who’s good at potions amongst the Winx? or is that fanon?

my shy cat is back and prettier than ever! 🐱 aryo is still rockin the bald look but im a lot more fond of this faceup. i havent worked with paint since my first monster high faceups, so it was interesting! i think the eyeliner came out well.

Quill heard the sounds of a struggle as he walked down the sidewalk towards the nearest library. Eyebrows furrowed, he stepped into the alleyway the noise was coming from and saw a young boy avidly throwing punches at two taller, wider guys. The boy might have been winning, but just barely, and he was badly bruised. Quill sighed, "I suppose a morning brawl could do me some good." He rushed in between the boy and the others guys, punching one of the two in the jaw. [And they fights together? ❤]

This is exactly what Aryo needed first thing in the morning, was being cornered in some alley by two guys, much bigger than him. It might’ve gone better if one of them hadn’t spotted his wing peeking out from under his hoodie. Before he knew it, he was throwing punches left and right.

Suddenly, out of the corner of his eye, he saw someone rushing over. Great, I’m barely winning now, do I really have to fight three? He thought, but the other person started fighting on his side.

Eventually, he and this other person drove the two guys away. Aryo straightened up, spitting blood from his mouth. “I had it handled, you know.”

(mxenixum-rp) "Now, what are you doing here?" Enixum all but purrs, his feet crossed on the railing above the alley, so that he hangs up-side-down, his back against the wall. He looks smug with himself, arms crossed behind his head, tail wrapped around his stomach, "Carefully, Angel, it's far too late here"

Aryo had been wandering down a random alley, seeing if it was safe and empty enough for him to curl up for the night. He jumped at the voice above him, and looked up. “Just out for a walk.” He lied.

He took a mental note of the horns and tail on the stranger, and rested his hand on the pocket knife inside his hoodie, just in case. “I didn’t think it was that late.” He commented.

"Another weirdo with wings? Wow," Ridet's smile was sassy, his fangs almost winking in the light, "This place really is crawling with freaks." ((hello im sorry ridet is kind of rude but hi iwas wondering if we could rp- ridetsuggestions))

Aryo looked down at the tiny person in front of him... Or not so much a person. “You’re calling me the freak? You’re the one with fangs, and goat ears.” He said distastefully. “What do you want?”
